    Default 12/12 question

Hi all, isit possible to start a grow of seeds on 12/12 under 400w of red cfl, then when first sighn of sex comes through put on 18/6 under 400w blue cfl for a while (6 weeks) then back onto 12/12 under the red for finish flowering? Or would it be better just to stay on 12/12 all way through?

Also can you still fim a plant If it's under 12/12 from seed?

U can veg to week 4-5 and it will preflower if u want to sex em, i always wait till then before last pot up rather than finding sex and revegging which is time consuming.

Hi mate, The great beauty of 12/12 from seed growing is that you can keep on adding new plants/ strains at will with no need for a veg box. The key with 12/12 from seed is to maximise growth in that first 3 weeks before they generally show preflowers.

I grow small compact plants in a micro box on constant 12/12 with a mix of warm whites and 'daylight' 6500 CLS. I have found this generally gives a good balance with good results in both early stages and later flowering.

You can still train them using LST or remove the main top (I dont do the latter, just gentle LST to keep the canopy even) right through flowering if you need to. My advice would be to stick with 12/12 and dont mess them around too much or do anything that slows growth and you can do OK with 12/12 from seed style.

Hope this helps in some way.

Just an example for you, 2 x Swiss Cheese and a Snow White (Nirvana fems) 4 weeks and 3 days from germination and already into early flowering. 12/12 from seed of course :-)
