G Man great post.
I am going to try this method out. I have been doing old Skool manual flood and drain. But this looks like a good improvement.
I'll make sure I post journal of first Hempy Grow.

I just started my 1st scrog in soil and wish to god I had seen this thread first B( Can I use coco above the hole with clay pebbles underneath instead of using pearlite or is the perlite a must?
Perlite works great, not sure about pebbles. But could mix them into the coco above the hole.
I could say the same for the res?
im going to use 3 perlite to 1 vic, but i cannot get enough to fill all my buckets am i ok to fill 50% with the usual mix and top up with a soil less mix?
Perlite is expensive in garden centres and my local shop sells 70L for £15.
B&Q do 10L for £5.... Go figure????
If the soil less mix is coco and pebbles then I would have a perlite res at the bottom and the rest the mix if its what I think.
my be not totally soil less, biobizz light mix nuet free i been looking at a friend grow a very nice auto in that its very light indeed and needs watering quite a bit.
Is coco a possibility?
Would be much better than any soil mix light or not.
Just ensure what ever you use you add minimum 25% perlite to it.
Green mojos and good luck for the future
Hey forest im running straight perlite hempys with no probs but just switched to per/ver mix watering at ph 5,8 and the ph rises to 6.8-7.1 the perlite was almost prob free apart from a little over fert prob but i cant get the run of ph to lower dropped ph to 5.2-4 and still run of is 6.4-7 any ideas
