Default cutting off fan leaves during flowering ok?

i decided to cut off some of the big fan leaves on my plants, to let in some light into all the plants cos it was getting way too bushy.

A friend told me it was ok to do this, as he does it, but i just wanted a second opinion, i cut off as little leaves as necessary, most were ones attached to the main stem.

    cheers.

it tended to do this on my White Widows (non-auto type) & never had a problem from it - if its got plenty of other foliage, taking off a couple of the old big fan leaves to allow light to penetrate has always seemed to work on mine...

Yes removing some of the fan leaves is OK but don't overdo it cos leaves = photosynthesis = bud.

i just tuck my leaves behind buds, and never cut any off unless they are 50% damaged. my thought is that more leaf surface=more bud growth.
