    Default The Boxing Thread

Hi all, here is the place to discuss all things boxing, whilst im here i will also make you guys aware of free websites to watch the boxing (and ufc on the myp2p site).

The sites are; www.myp2pforum.eu or alternatively you can use http://boxingguru.eu

First off we can start with the Amir Khan vs Paul McCloskey fight which is going to be shown on primetime for £15 or for free using the sites aforementioned. Khan should do a solid job on Closkey and his speed should cause real problems, late stoppage or wide points verdict for me...

Fred Jung; ''Sometimes you're flush and sometimes you're bust, and when you're up, it's never as good as it seems, and when you're down, you never think you'll be up again, but life goes on.''

A mere con, silly sausage stoppage imo bradley will be too strong even if king con is quicker - he will get caught and will go down... Will he survive to see the final bell? Possibly as his fitness should be on point as usual

Froch v Ward this w/e. Should be a cracking fight, Ward should take it on points though, so Froch will have to spark him out.

I'll sticky this thread also, might as well innit.

I watched it last week. It's quite moving tbh.
I remember watching this live and probably the best fight I've ever seen, sadly ended in disaster.
Barrerra morales one and two are the only fights that are nearly on par with this. Benn was a legend and the underdog against McClellan.
Good thread white, a shame it hasn't taken off more, love my boxing,
Its another completely useless post from....

Yeh Derek 'Del Boy' Chisora, Tyson Fury beat him a few months back. Vitali will knock fuck out of him, was due to fight Wlad around the same time Haye made a prick of himself fighting Wlad lol.

true, so did you see khan vs peterson at weekend what you think

I thought it was a cracking fight and although Khan thinks he was 'robbed' of his titles I saw the fight as a draw, I think Khan underestimated him, saying that I believe he will win the rematch, which is supposed to be happening on March 31st in Vegas. And yeh Vitali is IIRC 5 years older than Wlad at aged 40 and probably as good as he has ever been, he could fight on for a few more years yet and beat all comers. There is a new American H/W now though fought on the under card of Khans fight, he looked pretty useful. Could breathe a bit of life into the division, much needed also !

I dunno about a has been just yet, especially with Freddie Roach training him, but Peterson showed how to 'beat' him, Khan struggles to fight on the back foot, but remains very good going forwards.

i think hes far from a has been, he is a great boxer and hes still young so that defeat (a robbery in my opinion) will only make him better. bt i agree he totaly under estimated peterson and made that fight much harder than it needed to be

Paul McCloskey got beat by a t/ko and rightly or not be the stoppage he lost every single round up an til the ending. I said he would be looking at a side verdict or late stoppage and I was right in those respects cos Khan was dominating and imho would of got Paul out of there. Paul was slow, showed little offensively and was poor defensively. He thoroughly deserved his loss! He even got a gift by the judges against Prescott. Paul is a domestic level fighter at best and I would fancy Theophane or Gavin to beat him if/when they fight him.

Khan is not an has been, he merely underestimated his opponent and fought like a person with youth in experience. He totally got the fight wrong and was sloppy enough to get points taken off. Without those fouls he was 2 up on my card. Khan will come again and will start that by making amends in a rematch with Peterson. Truth be told I am glad Peterson won because his life has so far has been the exact epitome to the whole 'Rocky' story.

Anyway, welcome banter, all the best.
