    Default Smoking for medical reasons...

Just wondering, besides myself, who else is smoking for medical purposes? You can be as brief or detailed as you like. Nobody wants to invade your privacy. I smoke because everyday I get headaches since the age of 7. I get migraines too. My doctor gives me all kinds of drugs, even a shot in the large muscle which I have to give. Now if its that bad to a Doctor, ...I rant again. You get me. I also have had about 7 surgeries on one knee and more to come. This list goes on. Anyway, my body, my choice.

I had one and they found no reason for them...they still happen. Good tip on the organics. Hadn't thought of that.

I personally use it to help control my mood swings. I was diagnosed with bi-polar disorder when I was in my early 20's. I never could take the meds because the side effects were horrible. Cannabis then came to my rescue. I can truly say that it has helped me more than any of the crap doctors gave me. Oh yeah did i mentioned i am also diagnosed with depression which marijuana has helped too. 1 medicine that relieves multiple symptoms and ills or several different types to reach the same effect...hmmmmm i will stick with marijuana!
EVERYTHING I POST IS FICTITIOUS AND ALL IMAGES ARE FROM THE INTERNET TO BE USED FOR EDUCATIONAL PURPOSES ONLY. IN NO WAY SHOULD WHAT I SAY OR POST BE TAKEN SERIOUSLY. IT IS ALL HYPOTHETICAL SCENARIOS AND SITUATIONS TO HELP THOSE THAT CAN LEGALLY CULTIVATE MARIJUANA.

Being in the medical field, I know first hand the medicinal qualities of cannabis. There are so many benefits to using for symptoms. Having an enjoyable buzz while gaining the desired effects to treat symptoms is just an added benefit. Concerning pain killers...ask yourself, would you rather take a pain killer in pill form and get constipation and nausea or would you rather use herb and relieve the symtoms and enjoy it at the same time? The answer is clear to me (although I have to use both). Unfortunately, I am in a non-legalized State. The Laws make me so mad when our law-makers in the District of Columbia have legalized for medicinal in their District. Whats wrong with this picture?

I use it for chronic depression and anxiety.

    Without it I'm a mess.

    Litterally can't sleep.

Not belittling anyones condition but with the economy the way it is, we could all use some for depression these days. Wouldn't the world be a wonderful place if we all did? I hear ya Jack. I only wish my Wife would too as she is depressed something fierce.

I use it for really bad pains in my legs and arms, sometimes it gets that bad i have to site down for a while and cant stand for a long period of time because the pain gradually gets worse and the doctors are useless they tell me that they will not help without proof that i am experiencing this and give me some stupid tablets which i don't like taking because it damages the liver so why should i take a tablet which damages my health when i can get relief from cannabis and most of the time when i have cannabis i don't get stoned i take it until the pain is gone and i find i can walk about with no problem, that's why i use cannabis

Hello blazefor20, Have you tried suggesting edibles to mrs blaze? I'm sure the cooking with cannabis section should help. I don't consider myself a medical user as such, I enjoy being stoned! Although I have been self medicating for years if I'm honest I would not use anti depressants ever again, It's been 10+years and no pills. I only know for sure I prefer weed, Mrs blaze give it a try. You never know it may help, what do you have to lose at this point? I really hope you do give it a try before you decide if it's your cup of tea or not.

Thx Ladygarden...Mrs. Blaze has a serious health condition. She has never liked cannabis. I would love it if she would use but in any form her mind is not conducive to the use. She gets really para. I don't push her as she knows what she likes and I can't stress her out in any way. More for me and thats ok.

I use for medical reasons and those reasons being.....

I have Scoliosis (back), Arthritis (back), degenerating verts (back), had surgery for a prolapsed/ruptured disc (Dynesys) on my back 2.5 years ago and need more at some point, my surgeon wants me to have replacement discs. Over the years I have been on most painkillers, quite a few that are class "A" and I can tell you for nothing, dont EVER take strong opiates, yes they get rid of the pain but you will end up an addict albeit a happy one. If I manage my back as I do at the moment then the only painkiller I need is cannabis, if I walk about too much or just over do it a bit then I slow down and rest for a while and have a smoke, the last thing I need are chemical painkillers.

I too suffer from depression and insomnia if i dont smoke, i have tried sleeping pills etc and overdosed on them once and nearly died back in 2000. its the only thing that works for me and the fact i was busted 4 weeks ago and my plants taken has just made things so much worse. Am looking into as much information as possible for my defence if i am caught again as i dont feel i can stop without losing my sanity. bad times unfortunatly surely there must be a loophole somewhere for us to use it medically?

I started smoking because it was "cool" then continued because I liked it and will continue to do so for this reason. To be honest I'm completely loyal to the herb!
During my time in school ( a short and horrific period ) I was diagnosed with ADHD. Like all the other kids I was given the usual drugs to control my inability to concentrate, frantic behavior and vicious mood swings. Cannabis allows me to focus, it calms me down and helps me see the bigger picture and control my moods.

In my late teens after a few probs with nasty drugs I developed depression and things in my life falling apart leading to a suicide attempt, weed was not really being smoked often in this period but instead alcohol and class A drugs were the thing. I spent a year on anti depressants whilst working like a lunatic in kitchens and found myself close to another episode as the drink crept in again and the anti depressants made me more depressed and distant. Then I started smoking every day: A bong before work, a bong half way through and a load of bongs after. A month or so later I was able to stop taking the pills and just smoked when I finished work.
I still feel a deep dissatisfaction about life on weed but I can try to understand it and learn from it instead of letting my emotions take over as they still do whenever I stop smoking, not straight away but a couple of weeks later.

Finally and most importantly as the other conditions are just caused by the complete fucking insanity that is this world, both my father and I have FSHD muscular dystrophy and find that cannabis is the only effective pain killer worth taking. Others have all the negatives that we all know about yet weed has none! My dad also uses it for arthritis and a friend of mine uses it to treat symptoms of leukemia. He explained to his Doctor how the cannabis helped so dramatically but was expensive and hard to get hold of (and illegal in UK) Acknowledging this the Doctor actually prescribed him a synthetic cannabinoid of which I forget the name, might have been Marinol as a substitute for the real thing.
