    Default Running Cost Calculator

It's easy to work out how much it will cost to run your equipment.

Add up the power used by each item, such as lamps and fans, in Watts.

Then, look up that number and the price you pay for a KWh of electricity on the tables below to find the weekly running cost.

    Example:

    1 x 600 Watt HPS
    1 x 250 Watt HPS
    1 x 50 Watt Fan

    Total = 900 Watts

Electricity is £ 0.15 per KWh

Looking those numbers up on the tables shows that it will cost £22.68 per week if it's on for 24 hours per day, £17.01 for 18 hours per day, and £11.34 for 12 hours per day.

Eh? Click the bar to view the full image, and if it's still small then your browser's scaling it.

    Table says £ 3.36

    0.4 KW * 12 hours * 7 days = 33.6 KW

    At 10p per KW that's 33.6 x £0.10 = £3.36

    Yes.

I was kind of hoping that the heading "Weekly Running Costs" might have been a giveaway

I can do daily and monthly tables if people want them, but I figured that growing cycles were usually counted in weeks.

Usually when I have a 600w hps at 0.15pkh I have to put in around £2.50 a day but that's with all the other appliances so maybe that's why it is much more then what the chart says..

    Should be:

    0.6 KW x 12 hours x £0.15 = £1.08 per day for 12/12
    0.6 KW x 18 hours x £0.15 = £1.52 per day for 18/6
    0.6 KW x 24 hours x £0.15 = £2.16 per day for 24/0

I am defiantly paying about £2.50 a day on 600w so when it all adds up to that it has to be the extra appliances like I stated that is being charged and could be I may owe a little on debt on my meter as well

Good work Miss, everyone needs to use this, but remember your kettle, washing machine, dishwasher, immersion heater etc etc will always make it much more than you expect to pay..

And for the short sighted amongst us, CTRL+SCROLL WHEEL on mouse will sort it out...
