I think I want a new controller that does hum - I'm sure this is what is created half of the noise from my wardrobe - its like a hum through the floor boards!

I have a SMSCOM single plug thingy at the minute. Variacs not known for there humming are then?

I have the SMS temp controller one too. When at low speed it does hum but I think that's pretty normal. I'm going to put some insulation round It soon do hopefully that will make it sounds quieter.

It does the job well though! Maintains a perfect temp in me groom automatically. .
    I'm BACK!!

So is it the actual controller that's humming not the fan? I'll have to check in the morning

It's the fan that makes the humming
