    who are they and what makes them so special?
    Tiger got to hunt,
    Bird got to fly;
    Man got to sit and wonder, "Why, why, why?"
    Tiger got to sleep,
    Bird got to land;
    Man got to tell himself he understand.

    i take it that as you dont know who they are , you are either not from uk or are quite young (or both) or are taking the piss!

    in case it was a serious question ,the specials were around in the late 70's early 80's , they only had 2 albums with the original line up but both are considered to be among the most influential albums of all time by a british group .
    too anyone of a certain age especially if you were living in the midlands at the time they are quite simply legends. everyone was into the specials punks,teds, skinheads ,mods , blacks and whites. they perfectly captured the feeling of the time and the lyrics are still as relevant today as they were nearly 30 years ago.
    they split in 81 and have never reformed for a tour until now - although the founder member of the group (jerry dammers) will not be playing on this tour the rest of the original line up will be - its a shame jerry dammers wont be with them but its as good a line up as we are likely to get.
    it shows how highly people still rate the specials when all the shows that they announced sold out within minutes of going on sale

    have a read of this http://2-tone.info/artists/the_specials.html
    its quite lengthy but a excellent read and then watch these

    Shame all the tickets are sold out.. Would have loved to have gone.

    Skinhead moonstomp was a classic. 1 minute in, you can see Jerry launch his tamborine as someone pissing him off in the crowd. Great entertainment.
