new grower

just to say hi and say what im up to..


this is my first year growing trying to save money so growing outdoors.....
im in the south-east

I found my spot to grow and tested pH which is 6.5

the plant i have chosen is early durban from seedman has anyone grown these and how did they do or if not do you know about them


they are going in holes about 18x18x18in ...
with compost from my allotment witch is 2 years old

I must say PH 6.5 is little high ideally you should be looking for a PH in between 5 and 6 , good luck though

just use normal water or rainwater if doing a outdoor grow..ph is normally between 6 and 7 in UK..if you get it around 6 that it's good to go.. spooky I think you may be on about hydro ph?

Hello, Ph 6-7 is good. My plants are outdoor and i have used biologic soil. But under my soil there is sand. if there is sand under my soil can increases the pH?

you want your ph above 6.4 in soil as mg will get locked out under that, i try and aim for around 6.7-6.8
