    Default "Focused" strain effects

This question is sort of a hybrid, so if it's in the wrong place... oops

Anyway, I am researching my first grow and I had a few suggestions on strains to try that are resilient enough to withstand a newbie's first mistakes.

    The strains he recommended:

    Flo
    Euphoria
Northern Lights ( low odour )
    Warlock
    White Russian

I am interested in relieving stress and anxiety, NOT vegging on the couch, so I am hoping some anecdotes on whether these are appropriate strains for highs that will still make me productive (relative term I guess) without couch lock. And I'm talking one hit and quit it.

Went to Leafly and see that Northern Lights might be too hard, the rest possibly but they don't fall under "Focused" in terms of their effect.

What would you recommend? Ease of indoor grow adaptability AND newbie resistant is important so maybe I'm asking for too much, but I am trying to be thorough

    Thanks.

Not an easy question to answer...

If you're hoping to relieve anxiety and stress you should be looking at mainly Indica plants, but unfortunately Indica's tend to be a heavy, body stone.

If it were me I'd go for a good Indica like; Afghani #1, Red Diesel, Northern Lights etc but harvest a week or so early. This will reduce the chances of couch-lock but will ease the anxiety.

Northern Lights is probably the hardiest strain about and is a lovely smoke!

    Just my 2p's worth mate.

That is good to know. To be frank, I wasn't entirely clear on the differences between Sativa and Indica (but again, forum education to the rescue, lol)

So it would seem that indicas are easier to grow indoors but sativas are more brain than body. Interesting to know, will keep in mind as I continue to search for which I'll grow. But it sounds like I can reduce the indica effect to some degree by harvesting a bit early?

The warlock is just what you need, great smoke/taste/effect, very sativa like high without the racy edge you get with some sats.

If you take her at about 70/30 milk/amber she will be keeping you calm and keeping you doing shit

    quick to finish too

NL is the way forward for u if u want a pretty hardy plant, just make sure u get good genetics (sensi, Dutch passion or a trusted seed bank)
    Good luck

I did an experiment in the week leading up to harvesting my easy kush. I quick dried a sample every day for about five days before deciding to chop (council workmen due to come round and I didn't want them looking in my big cupboard).

What I found was its incredibly heady when harvested at the end of week 5. But you don't yield as much. As the buds fatten up during week 6 of flower (it's a 6-9weeker) they slowly get less focused and more sleepy.

Easy kush is sativa dominant. It had a citrusy scent in the flowers and the rest of the foliage smells almost like pine, especially when freshly cut. But when dried, it smells very hashy.

When it's LST'd the stems get so strong and thick and beefy it's berserk!

It's a beginner strain and very forgiving to grow. Don't water it too much, potting up every three weeks means you don't need to give it nutes during vegging. When I did (1ml in 1 litre) it got slight nute burn so I left it. Even feeding tomato food during flowering burnt it, even at 0.5ml per litre. So if you pot up with fresh compost, you won't need much nutes at all. Well I didn't, and therefore I thought I only needed to flush once. Should have flushed twice because of course there was food in the compost d'oh! Little harsh on the throat.

It's resistant to spidermites too, so that's a bonus!

I really enjoyed growing my 'special tomatoes" (codeword in front of the wee kids lol) and I highly recommend it as a starter strain. Easy peasy!

there is a medical review site (easy to find on google) of different strains, thats where I found out about my ones, you type in what you want, for example 'pain relief' or 'foccussed' or whatever and it comes up

I recommend Homegrown Fantaseeds Armageddon. It is a hybrid and very easy to grow, but has a more sativa than indica buzz that is a very pleasant stone, not at all "twitchy" or paranoia inducing.

Strawberry Cough by Dutch Passion is bred for Anxiety so definitely check that strain out! I am coming up to my second SC grow and it is a charm to grow most of the time.

I think a haze might work well, or a weaker diesel. both harvested rather early.

The strain I am working on sounds like something that would fit your needs.
