Apparently they have said the direct debit cant be canceled which is bull shit, its my bank n ill do what the fuck i like..... Cunts

I know its a bit late, but I discovered a handy bit of advise just last week that may come in handy in the future.

If,at point of order, when sorting out dates & times, you ask them to make a note on the order/invoice that "time is of the essence", if they fail to forfill their obligations & you end up having even more time off work to wait for them to rectify the issues, then you can claim all lost moneies.

The term "time is of the essence", unbeknown to most (myself included till last week) is a legal term, & gives you a really easy way to be certain that any problems 'aint gonna cost you in the end.

PRICELESS info. I'm off to look into that. Even if it turns out to be another one of those laws that nobody knows about so effectively totally ignores.. it sounds very fair to be compensated for lost time.

Don't know if this helps u - we got a big couch delivered to a highrise flat. Went up 8 floors in the lift, got in the door, couldnt turn in the hallway to get through the livingroom door at the end of the hall so they unscrewed the two ends & we were left with it in bits as they put all the pieces through then joined it back together. All of their own accord. So i think theyre talkin shit!

Hey, theres nothing worse than having shit like this going on. My suggestion is ring them back, tell them you have/ are going to talk to your solicitor/ lawyer and take it further. i dont know what its like in your part of the world but as soon as someone hears the word solicitor where Im from, they usually get to work fast, a lot faster than trying to argue the point with them will acheive. Hope that might help.

I had this with a company where I couldn't cancel the standing order so went in to the bank & had a word, the woman tells me as I have signed in to a contract with the company the scheduled payment could not be stopped!!!!!!!
To say I was pissed was an understatement the woman behind the counter could see I was getting a bit worked up over it & said on the sly "if you say you lost your card that is linked to the account the bank will issue a new card which the said company can not draw against" job done.

The bank lady was incorrect and you could of claimed the money back, plus compensation. The banks legally have to stop the payment once you ask them to.
