Top water lures for pike in the summer are the most fun I've ever had fishing. They hit them hard as feck just need to get them in and unhooked fast for the sake of the pike... mad that something as ferocious as the pike is so delicate tho.

I love my mepps spinners Scoobz . Or spinner rigs . I can troll near the creek mouths and narrows and get huge hits and pull some out every time . Unfortunetlt the native commercial fishijg has given a huge hit to the fish population round my parts . Huge fishing nets hundred of meters long catching anything that comes along ..... and in strategic places too them fuckers .
They only keep one species of fish and the rest gets tossed in the trash literally ffs !!

Ahh me to mate mepps are deadly for all sorts of fish always keep a good stash of them in my bag lol alot of rivers round here are stopping people using them and other spinners for brown trout. Like the abu Garcia droppens great for getting some distance caught a 5lb sea trout on one last year, off the beach at dusk.

We got something similar with commercial salmon farms here, all the antibiotics and lice ridden stock salmon escaping and proper fuking up the wild population mate, Scottish government are dragging there feet to sort it as usual.

We have alot of issues with eastern European guys killing everything they catch... emptied two ponds of pike and roach killing wee Jack pike 6 inches long fs. Pisses me off if you want to catch food go to a trout fishery and hammer stockies!

The trout fishing is ok where I go it was just a bacterial disease that killed most the carp,
Also the lakes I generally fish are well looked after and watched by anglers and plenty Thames water dudes.
This shut has always been a problem and fucking hell how much worse will it get

Aye it pisses me right off, one of the ponds I'm talking about I've fished since I was 6 years old and now it's basically dead water yer right gaz never seen any using the fly unless it's 10flys tied to a bubble... alot of locals try explaining that coarse is catch and release but they look at you as if ya mental. Shit though just builds animosity round the banks.
