Is this a good size for a grow room?

I'm only growing 1 plant, so I don't need a ton of space.
The exact measurements are 2.96' x 1.96', and the shelf is 5.77' from the floor.

what strain you thinking of growing? how long you planning to veg, and what sort of light you using mate?

that room seems fine for one plant, but maybe you could get more out of it.

This is my first time growing, so I haven't decided what type of seeds to get yet. I'm looking at Northern Lights by Nirvana Seeds and Holy Grail Kush by DNA Genetics though. And as far as lights go, I want something that won't produce a bunch of heat, and won't run my power bill through the roof.

I don't know what strain I'm gonna use yet, but I'll probably go with Northern Lights from Nirvana Seeds.

I want to get some bulbs that won't produce a ton of heat, and won't run my electricity bill sky high.
Actually, I was hoping you guys could help me out with that.

The way I want to have the light setup is to hang it from the shelf by a chain, and have it sitting a few inches above the plant.
That way I can just raise it as the plant grows.

The plant will be getting 18 hours of light every day during the vegetation period, and it will be cut down to 12 hours during the flowering period.

I still need to get nutrients, and figure out what I'm going to be using for soil.
Should I just go to Walmart and pick up a small bag of Miracle-Gro?

Edit: To answer your question, I don't know how long I'm going to veg. I only want the plant to be about 3 or 4 feet tall when it's done flowering and ready to harvest.

I have a similar drobe to yours but I have removed the shelf so I now have more head room, you should check it out

split the cupbord in half so you have 2 grow spaces one on top of each other and grow 1 of each plant you mentioned.. read about low stress training so you can get your plants to bush out into the space..use stick a 250W CFL over each and happy days

and take that shelf out, that way you have plenty of room to grow one plant on top of the other - couple of weeks veg

I thought about growing hydroponically but everyone advised me not to since it's my first time, they said it's a lot easier to screw up.

if your in the uk use b&q multi purpose compost by verve or john innes no1 for seedlings and j inne no2 for potting up.

if your in the us foxfarm soils are supposed to be really gd.
