I wouldn't IMO, From germination to seeing the 1st signs of flower take around 17-22 days, You dont have the time, 12/12 from seeds is bad enough to chance getting hermaphrodites, let alone causing more stress, You would be better to veg for 3 weeks if thats what your looking to do
Why would you wanna top them on 12/12 its not topping you just be chopping of your top bud and why prune them , they small and im sure are gonna get light , they need leaves m8 to make food and grow.
no point pruning when doing 12/12 sort of defeats the object as it will just slow growth for a further week, I thought whole point of 12/12 was seed to bud quicker than having a veg stage then flipping
I don't see how going 12/12 from seed causes stress, ATO mate, as all it does is cause the flowering hormone, phytochrome, to build up and dominate over the vegging hormones which have been suppressed by going 12/12 from the off.
I wouldn't have thought it an unnatural light cycle as plants are grown outdoors on around 12/12 at the equator?
Less than 9-10 hours will start to cause stress as well as light leaks as the plant is getting 2 conflicting signals, neither of which can dominate so the plant doesn't know whether it's coming or going and I've never had a 12/12 plant hermie although that doesn't really prove anything.

Fair comment, But I personally notice more problems going 12/12 from germination, rather than a small veg to begine with,Early induced flowering is not technically forcing your plant to flower. If you force flower on one strain that has not pre-flowered it will flower at roughly the same time as an exact copy of the same strain which has been flowered only when the pre-flowers appear naturally. Force flowering simply acts by stressing the plant into a crisis condition IMO
Sure, there are visible differences in morphology, the main thing being leaves have fewer fingers than plants vegged normally as they've not got the level of vegging hormone floral inhibitors and I fully agree with a couple of weeks vegging is better for the plant and it finishes, as you say, in roughly the same time.
Thanks everyone, you all made good points and conformations for me. Although this is not my preferred cycle i have a bagseed in flower so i was forced on 12/12 as i could not veg outside. NOSY neighbors. And from my experience i have much better results as far as less stress with a 2-3week veg cycle then make the switch to 12/12. At the same time i dont have as much light as i would like(125w cfl) so i know this has a lot to do with my size and height.
