    Default Could this be mould?

    Hi.

Does anyone think this could be mould? When I looked yesterday morning 3 of the buds on 1 of the plants looked like this. The bud leaves getting black patches on them.

Someone has said it's probably down to the freezing temps overnight and that it's nothing to really worry about. But someone else has said it looks like mould/mildew and to remove any infected leaves. I don't really want to sart hacking all the bud leaves off if it's nothing but also this is my 1st grow and am I better safe than sorry?

By the sounds of it from reading on here (cheers by the way everyone), budrot is definately to be avoided.

    Thanks

Your pics are alittle dark, but I have found this on the Net in regards to budrot I would read over some of the more advanced guys opions as well, but this won't hurt and if I am wrong then we both learned something.

    Cheers mate.

Sorry about the photo quality. Gonna have to get myself a proper camera.

The buds themselves look okay, I'm just a bit paranoid it will spread from the leaves and end up looking like your photos.

It's all so, so close and I can see it all going tits up.

    Yeah man,

I hear you on the concern issue. I am in the midst of my first grow we are in the flowering process, and as usual nothing goes to plan. It's hard to relax when something that appears so small can ruin some much investment and time. But I think your practicing the proper elements of due diligence and like me when I don't know you ask which is always a good idea.

I would look closely at your leaves, and not so much the one that have the symtoms but look at the new ones developing the symptoms. To me if your problem isn't on the buds I would suggest a possible Mg issue. If the problem starts in the leaf and not the vein then I think it would be Mg, I don't see any horning or crowning of the leaves so I don't think it's phospherus, but a nice flush of clean water to unlock the soil is never a bad idea.

Just some suggestions from the peanut gallery

upon further understanding that your issue is on the leaves, I thought I'd add a couple more things

Object 1. seems to be a leaf that is in early stages of a deficeincy while object 2 is a more advanced case of the defiency, now it could be Mg or it could be Potassium (K) from what I could see on the Plant Abuse chart.

In my own personal opinion I would flush with 4x volume of clear water to prevent or remove any soil lock and then within the week add epsom salt and your Bloom neuts.

Second opinion probably required but thats my idea.

    K Problems

    Mg Problems

    Thanks Hoody.

Just gonna use water from now on and hope for the best. I've got some epsom salts coming but they haven't arrived yet but i'll add a bit when they do.

Keeping the poorly looking one in the airing cupboard overnight now to try and keep it a bit warmer.

That's bud rot, Botritis, cut it out and throw it away .... it's a fungus and the spores are bad for your health

Sterilise the scissors after in H2O2, you can also use a cotton wool bud to apply the stuff direct to the plant

It's in the stem, you can see it in the end, so it's spreading, cut as much off as you can or the whole plant will rot from the inside out

If you found one spot there's probably at least one other, you may need to harvest to save what you have

Black Domina suffers really badly from this as the buds are so tight, I've had to harvest that early several times

I think the picture Bush Dr is refering to, is the picture Hoody frankz found and put up as an example of bud rot.

The plant in the 3 pictures stoogi put up, although doesn't look very well, it also doesn't look as if it has budrot, so I would chop your crop down until you get some better pics up and a better diagnosis of whats wrong.

    Cheers everybody.

You wouldn't believe how long it took me to get the photos looking that well. Shouldn't have gone for the walkman phone.

There are so many potential problems I'm just gonna use water for a week or so, keep an eye on them and chop them soon as.

I don't like it too stony anyway so I should get a fair few oz of decent stuff at the end of it. Although a nice heavy joint might be just what I need to curb my anxiety about these bloody plants. You start with just buying a few seeds to give it a go and it soon turns into parenthood.

Think I'll definately be giving it another go though afterwards now. With all my new found wisdom.

I'll post some more pics before/after harvesting.

    Cheers again.
