Default just wanted to confuse you on harvesting lol

I see a fair few threads about harvesting and when to cut but normally its a picture put up and you do wrongly tend to look at pistils and if it looks ready, I know we all know to check trichs but how many people are trying their weed at different stages and how do you know what you want come end product and what that particular strain is like during its window of opportunity. There have been a few plants in the past I have let go to mostly all amber trichomes and they just weren't as good when I looked back, like black domina which is a far better smoke IMO at the cloudy stage. I grew Pineapple chunk recently and took a bud from the plant at week 6 true flower, at this point the stalked trichomes were erect and about half were cloudy, I would not normally take them at this point, but after trying this bud a week later it was a soaring high, and massively enjoyable. At week 7 the plant didnt seem to be any stronger, and I will be trying week 8 later but so far I would have been more than happy to take her at week 6 and reckon that week 8 might be different and maybe not better for me. I am not suggesting trying buds all the way through but as the plant nears its finish, it can be worth trying a bud for future reference if you are growing that strain again, and to see what type of high that you do like as it vastly different from half cloudy/clear to all amber.

An example of our judgment fighting with the facts, this bud is ready for me (all cloudy trichomes) but if you were shown this picture I reckon a fair few would say couple more weeks, and yeah it could have gone 2 more, I let it go another one from here myself but I could have took it a week or two earlier with no harm at all.

I dont want to give an excuse to cut too early (if the trichomes are all clear I wouldnt even think about it and you do have to go by the trichomes) but each person needs to know at what stage they prefer their weed and hanging onto a plant so it may yield a bit more is self defeating if the weed is not as good a smoke for you as I found out with; Black domina, wreck f8, marleys collie, and maybe pineapple chunk.

I agree mate, I took a sample bud from my auto skunk mass and quick dried on top of my ballast for 6 hours then tried, 90% approx cloudy and it wasn't even a big joint and I was ment to go and do the shopping and it had to wait until the next day, it wiped me out for the evening so I chopped it a couple of days later.

I read that some don't turn amber until harvested... Wether that's true or not I'm not sure..

It may be just me, but in my experience Kandy Kush rarely turns amber to any great extent — just a few here and there. I can't say that I've checked again after it's been dried though.

Just to add a bit more to the mix, as I believe, only because I have read it.

CBD rich plants (4%+) will exhibit this from as early as wk 4 in flower. This also ties in with Hillbilly's pick a leaf and eat it in the morning antics.

I have heard this about some sativa's and not to wait for amber but only generally and not about a particular plant. That is why I think people should try at different stages though it covers your back, and if you have always taken a strain all amber it might be worth trying before then, it is a personal thing that you can only judge if you try. It is definitely true that later is higher CBD and a safer smoke head-wise but I like to get as much effect as possible for medical reasons *

WOW finally a thread to address this every picture we have put up we are told to give it a few weeks more LOL...I like the idea of sampling after the 5th or 6th week, we just finished a candy kush that went 8weeks and never fully turned amber, we stressed over cutting her down, but as of this writing it is some good smoke...far from being an expert but I am a firm believer that the plant will scream to you please chop and consume me when she is ready

Talking with the lab people they find the Highest THC at 100% milky THC doesn't turn to CBD when it turns amber. CBD Strains are also there highest at Milky. THC turns to CBN I think it is when poory dried or harvested late from what I read. I try to harvest all my plants at milky and don't really want much amber.
