white widow looking poorly

Hi,

Im on my 1st grow, Iv got 2 plants that have been on 12/12 for 4 days under a 600w hps, no sign of gender yet. One of the plants (white widow) is looking really ill today, all its lower leaves and branches are drooping down.

The plant is in a 11 ltr bucket, Iv had problems with the soil compacting, and water drainage, iv not watered the ill plant in 5 days but the soil under the surface still feels a bit damp, so im wondering if this could be the problem.

Iv not used any nutes so far, but got some due to arrive in the post tommorow.

The 1st pic shows it yesterday when it was ok, the 2nd pic is today after the leaves started drooping...

Any ideas what the problem could be?

give it a good water mate, it defo needs it after 5 days, how long has it been in that compost, what are your temps, what soil did you use

could you take the plants out the room and take piccies as its better to see the leaves as the grow light make it look yellow

I planted it into the 11 ltr tub about 3 weeks ago. Temps when the lights are on have been up to 30c, but mostly its around 24c, when the light is off its no lower than 10c, temps were a big problem before i got my tent and 5" extractor. The soil is B&Q cutting and seedling soil, with about 25% perlite (added by me).

Thanks for the advice guys, Iv given both the plants some water now, and the WW seems to have perked up a little, although some of the lower leaves have turned yellow and are shriveling up.

hiya skunkby pal,the plants look a lot better now pal that was all they were needin jist pull off the dyin leaves at the bottom as they will be of no use now they are dyin the plant will look a lot better for it.fingers crossed they are both girls you will defo be able to sex in the next week or so now youve gone 12/12.good luck pal.weed heed

Thanks a lot mate, shes is looking much better now, I'll get rid of the yellowing leaves as you said. The nutes have just arrived today (bio bizz grow and bloom) so Im going to give them there 1st small amount of food in a few more hours.

no worries at all skunkby,for the first feed with bio nutes go for 1ml grow and 1ml bloom per litre of water that will be fine and from then on you can go 2mls each per litre of water.I wouldne be waterin till the pots dry out so if ye watered in the last couple of days leave a bit before waterin again i usualy give them about 2litres each till the pot is soaked and very heavy then dont give them a drink till the pot is really dry and light thats how cannabis likes to be fed so the roots can search for the water.weed heed

Thats great to hear man, I dont get to show the plants off nearly as much as Id like to.

we do our best skunkby pal glad ye like it,and give it 6 or 7 weeks and we might see one of those babies in the plant of the month comp and then ye can show that baby right off pal.good luck wi the grow cheers weed heed.
