Default hydrid bucket - idea for discussion

    alright

we know that hempy buckets r easy as they are, and simpler form of hydro , so why trying t make it easier ? well, I got no clue

the idea is a hemp bucket 2/3 with 100% perlite and 1/3 soil on top
    hemp buck.jpg

why ? purpose is to be able to use soil nutes within this method, I did find few that tested similar scenarios but somehow I lost my links and cant post em anyway so I ll list few points :

+ few growers tried 100% perlite and using liquid soil nutes , they reported micro defenciencies, most at late stages
+ a grower tried 2/3 perlite 1/3 soil and soil nutes as experiment, claimed had no problems at all and explained that usualy, main deep roots focus on water while top 1/3 are more responsable about collectin micro nutes. ( I didnt find facts to back that up yet.

whats innit for me? or what do I think about it
    - convenient for the availability of supplies in my case
    - for noobs this is super easy, less chances of overwatering for example
    - it is reported that once roots reach the reservoir they goin b happy and super active.

Do you think you may need some sort of air pump in the bottom to aerate the res?

idea is based on original hempys with 100% perlite,,, the regular watering is just like flushing, which is usualy every24h or 48hr,

hempy bucket users from what I read didnt report aeration or hot res issues, its very simple, just consume more water, and I guess since the drainage is more than optimal, roots doesnt complain and thats how hempys workin

"If it ain't broke, don't fix it" I say.
Why not just use a perlite res and soil/perlite mix for the res???
Only done coco hempys and I'm guessing you won't be reporting/potting up.

seems u describin what I wanted to say if I understand u right

want to maximize drainage/use of perlite, minimize soil presence, and be able to use soil nutes . sounds doable no?

Soil is mud and mud attracts flies thats enough to not use mud for me plus you have no idea of whats left in the medium and when to feed and at what strength its all guesswork.
    Mud is for outside.
    Lol
I have toyed with the idea of an automated drip fed hempy with an added airstone in the res to see if this speeds up growth and helps with a better yield.
But i have only thought about it and thats probably as far as ive ever go with the idea too.

When you water the soil will wash down thru the Perlite . And if you use a filter separator between them you will have a water table above your res also .

I have seen this done very effectively on another forum!
The guy starts out in a soil/perlite mix and once they have a very good root system he transplants the soil core into a perlite Hempy bucket.
He tops it off with some more soil and grows some serious monsters this way.

not sure on posting links yet on this forum to other grow forums...
