As said above -- A general rule of thumb that any grower should follow is that if 3/4 of you all your buds pistils have turned brown and are dying that would be time to harvest, but that does not take into consideration what state the trichomes are at which you should have a scope for with minimum 60x to 100 x magnification, clear trichs are not ready and will give you a crap paranoid high, milky gives you the head high and when all are cloudy its optimum potency of the thc, amber is degrading and producing cbd,cbn so if you like a heavy smoke you want cloudy/amber trichomes, most important part of your grow is knowing this and getting it right for awesome smoke =]
