    Default Worm farms

Anybody care to show their worm farms? Heres mine, all home made, come on show us your skillz...

Its a high rise effort with 2 chambers, the 2nd is a migration chamber so they dont get bored, and when the top box is full, I can forceably relocate them, with a few slices of bread, and some fresh carrot peelings....

Its a bit wonky, but i dont suppose the worms care too much

    I guess not then, nevermind...

Or maybe I am the only worm farmer in the whole wide world, and as a trend, it might catch on

    Thanks for your sympathy post

It seems wormfarming is not a popular hobby , suprising really when you consider the benefits for serious organic growing.

Worms from Fleabay £5 for 500gms

Plastic boxes from one of my twice yearly trips to civilisation aka town....oooh, scary place that it is. And the vendor that is know as Poundstretcher, all 3 for £8. Bit gaffa tape, any respected grower has this in abundance lol, and thats it.

Newspapers, cardboard (not the shiny or printed stuff) eggboxes....free. Veg peelings.....free....its all free after the worms and container.

3 months rotation = full box of lovely casts, and before you use the casts, stick them in a stocking, I'm sure bubbs you have these in plenty being a chick , I raided the Mrs draws, chest of draws i might add, the other draws a bit later on - fill the stocking with the casts and put in a bucket of water over night - perfect super strength worm tea, full of lovely nitrogen.... excellent for a re-pot, and general root and foliage growth.

    Hope this helps.

I will add to this if theres any more interest, however i think theres a pretty good sticky i just noticed.

Thanx for the simple guide Buddy, seems like i will be looking in to this a tad more
I guess its something that should be more popular with organic soil growers, maybe you will start the trend. I'm just going back to B&Q compost cos I was getting a bit sick of paying £££££'s for premium type composts and think these worm casts will be a wicked additive to boost the nutrient content of the B&Q stuff

    NP BB, CAF G2BOS...

Its great for boosting regular composts. I use B&Q also, for seedlings and veg, but for flower i add the casts to the B&Q with added JI this time, the JI gives you a but of a better all round basic feed. But Cannabis is a hungry plant if you have your conditions right, so the 6 weeks included feed I take as 4, and start with my home made stuff, I also use BioBiz grow intermittently, but then again, I always veg for 4/6 weeks anyway. I like 'em big 4 to 6 weeks veg and the nitrogen from the casts is mainly gone, then come bananas, spinnach etc - roll on bud time....
