Default Another White Widow. 12/12 from seed.

So... I haven't been documenting my past two plants. I have continued with 12/12 from seed as this is (for me) the fastest, easiest, most efficient way to get some quality bud for minimal cost. I currently have another White Widow in flower, this will be my last WW and my next grow will be...Super Lemon Haze! Yes, I invested in some new fem seeds, during this grow. I can't wait to get one into flower and smell the sweet citrus. Lemon Haze is by far one of my favourite smokes. I did however get a free fem WW seed with this order, so this definitely won't be my last WW. It's been a decent smoke and my previous plant was the best so far, so hopefully this one will be even better. I've been extending the harvest date on each grow so this one will be left till the thc glands are mostly glowing amber. I will post some pics and info of this grow today and let everyone know how I'm doing it. I will also be documenting my next grow, a Super Lemon Haze 12/12 from seed. Watch this space. ZestyB.

Right, so as promised some pictures and info of my current grow. WW 12/12 from seed, minimal cost and effort. I haven't even invested in new soil for this one, I went back to an old bag of MG that I stopped using when I bought organic MG a few plants ago. I soak the seeds in water over night and when they sink, they get planted. I don't bother with seeds in tissue with little roots because planting them with root showing can cause damage as i have found out before. I find it best to make sure it's taking in water by soaking and sinking then plant straight into a small cup of soil and propagate, when it has leaves, i pot up into the finishing pot...
I have 200w of CFL lighting, 1x 125w dual spectrum CFL and 2x 35w CFL tubes (one warm white and one cool white). I'm using some old Hammerhead feed during flowering, that I bought when I started growing around a year ago. I also now use a teaspoon of epsom salts with every feed, apart from the flushing. This whole op is very simplistic and it works great for me and the plants. I have enough light for the size of the plant and it produces around an Oz dry each time with dense buds and no wispy stalky crap. The plant can be left pretty much to it's own devices and all I do is check every other day to make sure it isn't growing into the bulb, and also feed every 3 to 4 days, or whenever the reservoir at the bottom of the pot is empty, the reservoir holds a litre and I find this a great way to feed as dry soil isn't good for pests or bugs, and this pot keeps the top 3 quarters of soil dry. I'm happy to answer any questions about my grow if there is any. I'm already looking forward to my next grow already because I have 5x Super Lemon Haze seeds to grow out! They could be up on the next comps if all goes well....
    Zest.

...and some bud porn for the lads and dads. LoL.

It's at this stage of the grow when you get the odd whiff of the fruiting plant. It's downstairs in the cellar, in a tent, but every now and again upstairs there is a short burst of growing ganj flying by my nose. Lovely.

Yeah, it's always feasible to veg for a couple of weeks. At the moment though, I don't want to risk a plant that gets too big for the light I have. I grew out an AK48 before and vegged her for 2 or three weeks. She stretched like a mother during flowering and the bud ended up wispy and stalky, she ended up stressing too much and started growing bananas. This could have been down to multiple errors on my part as it was one of my first grows. I also opted for 12/12 to cut lights on time, I also didn't want to mess with changing the pattern on the timer and counting the weeks etc. Maybe I'm being lazy at the moment but I do feel a bit more light is needed to be able to grow a bigger bush and more bud whilst still keeping it dense enough. I may look into it for the Lemon Haze grow, even if it means investing in a few more CFL tubes, or asking to borrow my father in law's 400w HPS which would mean more temp regulation etc. We will see, it's definitely feasible though. I wouldn't mind a bit more bud at harvest that's for sure.

bit of a danger sign Zest, if you do get a 400w hps think about a filter as well....

But lovely little setup you've got, and it works for you which is what matters

Yeah i've thought about that also, It's just right at the moment I think, minimal whiffs every now and again usually first thing on a morning, nothing too noticeable. I know, more light + more bud = more smell. Which would mean a filter and more temp regulating and probably a bigger tent. Of which i can't really afford to invest in at the moment. I may experiment next with a 2 week (max) veg period with the light and set up I have, just to see the outcome. If anything needs to change or if it's feasible, i'll look into it.

okidoki, but it only needs a plastic pig to be walking past and get a whiff and they'll know somethings occurring in the vicinity....

Yeah true. I doubt they would notice out the front though because it is in a cellar and the little window in the cellar faces the back of the house, where it's garden, then old railway and tunnel, fields etc. Busy road out front however, too much going on, pigs drive past all the time with sirens going most of the time, bigger fish to fry, they also seem too occupied by the shop lifters and heroin addicts over the other side of the road. Ha, I'm painting a great picture of the area I live in. It's not all bad really, I don't like it and it isn't my hometown but it's serving a purpose until i get my shit together to move abroad. I've been out on the front doorstep smoking a doob before, feds walking about, seeing to the shoplifters across the road etc, quite liberating actually! Ha!
