Yes mate, that's how most growers take clones.
Keep the soil moist and spray the clones once a day and they should begin growing roots in a couple of weeks. - If you've got a propagator, even better!

yes as grub says, its perfectly fine to do that as thats the normal way

although i would advise you to NOT spray the clones every day, spray every 2nd day at most, if they are perky and standing up firm then they dont need sprayed, if they are drooping then spray em ok,

just provide an enclosed atmosphere by keeping them in a propogator or by putting cut in half plastic drinks bottles over them as a mini propogator

If they dont have roots then do they still take water from the stem base or are they taking water in from the spray?

through the leaves ,this is why they are kept in a high humidity enviroment[propergater].spraying helps, the stem though doesn't take up anything till roots have formed.

dj,when you say put them into a propogator do we put them into a heated one?and cover the propagator with the lid?I usually water the mat inside the propagator to cause some moisture,is that ok? and would I still need to mist the cuttings as the propagator always causes a steamy atmosphere.Any help would be great!

if you have a heated one and you fill with soil to clone into then they're ok as they dissipate more heat evenl through the soil,
but i find that if your cloning into peat/coco pellets or rockwool/cuteline cubes then heated propagators dry them out too much

as long as the clones in the propagator is somewhere warm and the lid is closed and any vents it may have are shut then this keeps in enough humidity

i personally dont mist every day, only once every second day at most
if the cuttings are standing up all perky and not drooping badly then they dont need misted every day
i also keep a tiny little bit of water in the bottom of the propagator too

I didn't spray my clones of tom plants or the kiwiskunk. Just water em a little when dry imo. Seems to be ok.

And about dipping the end in something, well i dont have anything special just my tomatorite (sp) stuff from wilcos i just dab the end into bit of that then plant in soil.
