Hi Guys,

For those that don't know much about me I've done a few grows before, but only outside. I have ventured indoors now to see what I can prudoce. here's a few shots from my old grows to jog your memory.

My setup is as follows:

600watt MH/HPS Cool Tube
150mm Extraction w/ carbon filter
1x1x2m Dark Room (a.k.a tent)
Bio Bizz Organic grow + bloom nute's
PH testing kit + PH Down
2 clip on oss fan's
B+Q multi-purpose compost with b+q perlite/vermiculite
keeping 9 strongest females to flower in 9 x 11litre square pots.

So Far I have been vegging for 3-4 days, here are the seedlings:

How low do you have the coolshade M8 ?

I use a 600w hps/coolshade & i can get it to @ 6" away ... it's worth experimenting as the nearer the light source the less the plants will stretch & less wasted lumens !!

Thats as close as I can get the coolshade so far, hence the plastic tub the pots are sitting on. I will get my coolshade 6inches away as soon as they grow a bit.

Yeah DR100 - I don't think any of them are really worth the money but I would have to say it does the job very nicely.

A little update for you.

Now feeding every other day as they seem to dry up quite fast. feeding every other feeding with Bio Bizz grow, 1ml per litre just small doses at the mo.

I think they are looking quite healthy, apart from the middle plant which is a Female Dutch Passion Blueberry and is showing the usual mutated formation they are famous for :banghead: :wtf:

Cheers guys. Just went out and got a digital thermometer/hygrometer so I can keep a record of min/max temps (£15 maplins). I put it on the outside of tent (thanks to seeing it in sweetsinner's pics) so that I don't have to disturb the plants when going for a check-up. No excuse now for not getting the perfect conditions.

Can't wait till flowering. Hopefully have a nice crop ready for xmas :leaf:

Just passive intake mate - the dr100 I use has 3 velcro covered window's that can be used as passive intake, I leave just 2 open. Temps stay between 20-24 now. Here's a pic of them today:

It's one that was germinated about 5 days after the rest as a couple didn't make it so i germinated a couple I had lying around. Think it's NYC Diesel x Lowryder, germ'ed 2 but only 1 popped.

Here is a little pic update. They had to be re-potted yesterday as some yellowing started on the lower leaves which seemed like they needed a re-pot. The root system was pretty advanced for the size they were and shocked me. Now they are in nigger pots they have sprung back into life and hopefully grow nice and fast for the next week and half. I need to put them into flower on monday 15th October at the very latest for them to be ready for xmas. So hopefully they get a bit bigger as they are only around 6-7 inches atm. My next grow I can afford to veg a little longer so I can get some monsters!!!

Quick Update:

Had to chuck my plants into flower even though they could do another week or 3 to get the real benifits, but there are two reasons making me put them into flower this early.

1. I want them ready for xmas, and including drying time and a few days, maybe a week of curing, from tomorrow a 10 week flower will just be about ready.

2. I am picking up some females (4 x paradise seeds magic bud) off a friend who had them in his greenhouse. They need fattening up and are quite early in flower so i thought I could finish them up and have some weed a bit earlier than xmas. One problem with these plants is he left a few males in a bit too long as he is a novice and it's been polinnated, luckily not too badly. - SHOULD I REMOVE THE SEEDS OR LET THEM DEVELOP? I will get some pics later after I pick them up (if i get back ok :) )

Here are my plants today under the very red HPS light (carbon filter now fitted and can't smell a thing.) As soon as they show sex males will be killed females will be repotted into 11 litre pots. New females are around 4 foot :D - i'll get pics later. I fed the'se young'uns on 2.5ml per litre of Bio Bizz grow today, they lov their new bigger pots too. They are guna love the 11litre's to finish.

They'll continue to grow for a good while yet M8, they still look a little immature to show sex so be patient ..

I put mine straight into 12/12 from seed & it always takes a good 4 weeks to show properly and if they happen to take an extra week that can be a good sign as females do generally show sex later then males.

Here are some shots of the 4 female Magic bud I have rescued from a greenhouse. They should bulk right up in here, with a bit of TLC needed. I'll let the seeds develop and keep them for future grow as I have heard good things about paradise seeds Magic bud!

Re-potted them today and started them on Bio-Bizz Bloom 2ml per litre. Gave all 4 of the big females 1 litre each feeding after the re-pot and now all plants are on 12/12 with the HPS.

Lets all pray these magic bud take kindly to the late re-pot and last ditch attempt to bulk up. My fingers are crossed. I will also give them a hug everynight.

Seems to be yellowing at the sides of the leaves around the top main cola of the plant and the next node down. Burning maybe?

dont give it / them any more nutes M8, the repot will take care of all the nute needs for at least 3-4 weeks.

I still think the leaf is showing MG deficiency so the repot should sort that out too over the next few days and forget the epsom salts as they've just been repotted.

i say with them being so young that its nute burn. I aint no expert though so don't just take my word for it.

Apart from teh burn the leaves curling down is what my plants used to do before showing the signs of nute burn.

I'd also say you need to get those young plants a lot nearer the light or they will end up like your tall ones and stretch. Prehaps you could put them on some boxes or something to get them up higher towards the light.

Alternatively you could try kinking the stems twice on the taller plants and cable tie it together so the stem looks like the letter 'N'. Belevie me they will recover quiclk and it will bring the height down.

If it was nuit burn doesn't it normally take a few days to show after feeding? How long after repotting is that piccy taken?

Saying that though plants are normally fine for the first few weeks after repotting as the fresh soil is full of the goodness they require until they eat it all up so don't require any kind of feed at first :)

Quick update:

I have raised My smaller plants by a foot and a half and now are not too far away from the light.

I started my small plants on 2ml/Litre Grow and 1ml/Litre Bloom today. Keeping the females on water for another week before I start using nutes as they have only just been re-potted.

I tell you what Mike, every single crazy x plant i've grown and Ragman as he had some cuttings off my stinky mother i flowered have all been very very uniform and the same height. Ragman couldn't believe how neat and tidy they look when growing. Matt sure knows his stuff when it comes to breeding these strains hey mate... :dance2:

I can't believe how much they have grown in 1 day! At least 3 inches, and the leaves have got huge. I'm using bio bizz's feeding schedule now and the plants seem to love it!

I can't give you a good answer there mate. They need to grow a bit more yet before they will sex and the problem is that unless you repot soon the growth will slow down and delay pre-flowering.

I have always repotted up to the 11 litre (or 9 in my case) and then just thrown away the males. the problem is they take up a lot of space, hence me only having five plants in my tent as I threw 5 males away.

Yhey will probably show in those pots but you don't want to restrict root formation if you can help it.

Just see if anyone else posts who has managed to preflower in pots that size.

one little thing to add,

i have one tiiiiiiny criticism mate, and your welcome to tell me to shove it up my arse, but ill tell ya anyway hahahahah


your setup wanks all over mine, but what i notice you are splitting the light of your sodium between all your seedlings and your two mature plants, which seems slightly counter productive, since you have a coolshade i would place the main focus of the light onto your seedlings (IF this is possible with your setup)and let the mature plants receive second hand light. im only saying this because every inch closer to your plants with the sodium vastly increases lumen effectiveness, and personally id concentrate the light on your seedlings.


conversely, however, you may want some of the smoke of the maturer plants ready quicker, which i can understand......


at the end of the day tho mate, your looking at grade A bud either way, so i guess it doesnt really matter

4 males killed today. 3 deffinate females, 2 Lemon stinky 1 Blueberry. 3 Lemon myst and 1 Stinky were male.

3 other Lemon myst im 99% sure are male. 1 Other stinky is still a no show. Also got a lowryder hybrid nearly ready to show.

At least the fem's i do have will get a lot of attention and plenty of air.

That leaves me with:

3 - deffinate fem's *(2x lemon stinky 1x Blueberry)
2 - still to show (fingers crossed, i'm sure 1 is male 1 is female but we will see. 1x Lemon myst 1x Lemon stinky)
1 - lowryder hybrid I dont really care about - but might give a joints worth if female :D
4 - Female magic bud - finishing up.

As long as I end up with 4-5 females from mine I will be happy enough. Still got the other 4 females to finish up too.

Here is a close up of one of the 4 female magic bud - they are starting to smell very very very niiiiiice! just need to bulk up now the resin is getting there just no sign's of bulkage yet, think I should go for a booster?????

and i can say that they work !.

I'm using the Bio Bizz range for this grow so may invest in some topmax. I do like the canna range - used them before and they gave good results.

The magic bud look bulkier than yesterday - no i'm not imagining it they are actually starting to put some weight on at last!!! comon bitches make me a proud father - i thought these plants wouldnt make it after the not so great up bringing and the torture of the journey to the new grow room. Anyway they are loving their new pots and feeding schedule and let's hope they reward me well for my efforts, i've spent hours looking after these girlies!

Hi guys a little update.

Today is day 15 of flowering and The lemon stinky are now shitting out a load of white hairs!!!

This seems to be the case with the older magic bud's too. They are finally starting to spring back into life and have shoved a load of white hairs out and look as though they will bulk up nicely in a few weeks time. The magic bud smell more and more everyday and the resin doeasnt seem to stop piling on. :omg:

Here is one of my lemon stinky that has looks droopy and stretched. It did look worse than this a week ago but since the re-pot it seems to be recovering slowly. I Think I left the re-pot a little late, and it probably got root/pot bound. Let's hope it turns out to be a healthy lady.

Just found some spider mites on some lower fan leaves of 2 plants. Also found a few whitefly. I removed a few infected leaves and killed any spider mites i saw.

Might get some predators (ladybirds) to eat the mites and some sticky strips to catch the flies. What do you think?

Well I removed all plants. Sprayed with ph adjusted cold water on all of the fan leaves (underside). I also wiped the leaves with my hands to remove any spider mite fuckers. I also hoovered out any mess in grow tent such as dirt and dead foliage.

I will go on a mission to find some ladybirds in my garden and hopefully they can munch any remaining mites. I hope They don't return, it was all going so well. Luckily I caught it in the early stages, one good thing abotu checking your plants regularly.

Shit! I was just going to complement you on some of those buds, and then I read you've got mites. God I hate those fuckers with a vengance, and will be only to happy to give any advise that may help.

As mentioned by LK, neem is your best bet, but of course you don't want to be spraying heavily flowering plants. The washing, and/or rubbing of leaves is also a good ploy as the removal of mites/eggs is a must.
I'm sure you'r equite aware that having mites, although hardly fun is not the end of your grow. I've harvested twice while battling the fuckers, and finally beat them with nothing more than Neem oil and bleaching the grow room.

Personally I would go with the neem oil too, as your predators cannot survive easily in flowering times, and also rubbing the leaves like Diaper said... as not only can that crush the bastard eggs but it also makes you feel alot better *laughs* i normally mutter the mantra of "die you evil bastards...die" *laughs*

Mr Diaper is the spider mite man so follow his advice and you will be fine!! :D

Just make sure you keep on top of them with the neem oil, even if they are looking hunky dory as far as mite invasion goes, as give the bastards an inch and they will take a mile!

OK.

Got some sticky strips and some neem oil yesterday. Gave them 1 litre of spray yesterday with 5ml of neem. Today there is no sign of any life accept plants in the tent! No further damage to any leaf. I will keep applying the neem oil every 3-4 days but not too much because it stinks and don't want my bud to suffer or have a neem oil taste :shocked:

Thanks for all the help guys, should keep these bastards under control easily now. Good job I noticed them quickly. If I was a novice (i.e. first grow) I don't think I would have spottted and treated them so fast. :bump:

It hasn't slowed growth at all! The lemon stinky are just bulking up daily now, the main cola is full of white hairs and could be classed as a "bud" now. And i'm only on day 18 of flower! These bitches should give me a good yeild I hope.

lastly we have a pic of the group. Can anyone shed any light on why one of my stinkies is still got leaves that curl downwards? (on left :p ) Flushed a while ago, re-potted and not used any nutes for ages. Not over-watered or under-watered, I thought it was due to leaving the last re-pot too late but that was a good week and half ago. Thought it would have grown out of it by now.

either way my first impression of it was underwatering...or heat stress, which since you have an aircooled bulb is unlikely..hmmm

The reason the magic bud aren't bulking is because they are heavily seeded. I didn't realise the guy left the males in so late, there are shit loads of seeds.

Oh well, the bud is still smelling awesome and i'll just have to go through and take out the seeds. Already got about 20-25 and thats from like 10% of one plant :)

Hi peeps,

A little picture update of 2 lemon stinkies that are very different.

One is starting to bulk out very nicely but the other is still to recover from the leaf curl. I put it out in sunlight today to make sure it gets loads of fresh air and some direct sunlight for an hour or 2. Maybe it will help maybe it won't but I've tried everything else.

I have a lemon myst that I will get pics of soon. It is a good 4 inches taller than the lemon stinky but not quite as bulky bud-wise yet but I think it will be a good yeild. The bulky lemon stinky in this pic has an identicle twin in the tent but is an inch taller.

The wilting plant seems to be getting bud sites the same size as the others so thats good. Think I may have stressed it by letting light get to the roots during a transplant. lesson learned.

The LS aren't that small. In 11 litre pots and probably around 1.5-2 feet in height and the lemon myst taller again maybe pushing 3ft.

heres some porn of the magic bud. 1 of the plants is close to finishing so I will flush them on sunday and probably chop the one that loojks ready the following sunday. The others will come down 1 by 1 as and when they are ready from that date.

Sorry for putting pics up every 5 mins but this indoor grow is my first and the results amaze me everyday. as this is a trial and error grow my next grow will be one to watch! Longer veg, better feeding schedule, same strain all grown at the same time.

I'm glad the magic bud finished OK in the tent, much better than what they would have turned out like. Shame they are so seedy as the yeild has suffered loads because of it. Still should get a good smoke and a nice amount of seeds so that I can grow these again as I love the smell.

The mist seems to have a danker/skunkier smell to it - the lemons are smelling more like a fruity skunk. If both smells are the same as how they will taste I shall be a happy grower!!

Yes they will go the full 10 weeks maybe 11 at a push if they need it, but will go no longer because I want a nice green xmas. Tonight is end of week 6 so 4 weeks of bulkage to go.

Not a single hair has turned colour yet, i'm not sure what stage they usually start to change colour as this is my first indoor, i'm guessing in a weeks time they will have started?

I doubt 80% will go amber in a week. More like 2-3. They will gradually start turning tho. When you get around 30% amber trichome heads your good to chop.

Here are pics of the lemon stinky / mist into week 8 of flower. These can easily go the full 10 weeks. Stinky may be ready after week 9 but we will see. Pointy bud shape with no much resin is the lemon mist, I think resin will pile on next few weeks.

Only tried the magic bud, which is very strong, couch lock, sleepy. Not an overly tastey strain but better than some iv'e smoked. Considering these were in very poor condition and people didn't think I would get much from them, i'm very very pleased. I got about 300 seeds from 1 plant, 3 still to de-seed :D Considering the seed pruduction they still produced some awesome smoke!

I have been using nothing but water for the last week or 2. Will continue to water the mist once more next week then that will be it. Will probably harvest the lemon mist on xmas eve and dry till new years day. The lemon stinky and blueberry will come down by monday at the latest. This blueberry + lemon stinky #1 will come down sunday night.

Hope you like the pics and hope you enjoyed this diary. Will get some dried pics up as and when alonmg with smoke report. Still never smoked any lemon stinky so i'm very anxious!

Thanks for the help and support along the way. Turned out quite well for a 1st grow I think. Things can only get better.

I know exactly what you mean Mike, it's going to be a pleasant change for me to have a selection to choose from. I've had a single strain stash for months, and although of a fine vintage it has got a little tedious at times.

Anyhow, nice growing allthe same and I hope they finish soon for you.

that's exactly the reason i've always done more than one strain, i get bored if i have the same thing all the time so this way i can pick to suit my mood.

These are now hung up inside a cardboard box being dried for 7 days then I can try the lemon stinky at last!!!!

This plant seems tyo have a lost some smell since I chopped her. Today she smelt like the notorious lemon skunky smell, but not as strong as harvest day, smells a bit planty today :(

Hopefully that should dissapear soon :D

My lemon stinky seems to be losing it's smell everyday. Just smells like a tennis ball today unless you squeeze a bud then a nice smell comes out.

Most buds will lose a lot of the smell during drying n curing, but it will develop as it cures. & wait until you grind a properly cured stinky bud, the smell is delicious !.
