THC Ejuice. Hopefully

Welcome to my THC Ejuice making experiment.

I'm using Vegetable Glycerin (VG) for the base of my juice, available from the tinternet.
£5 for 500ml

I used.
A kilner jar (jam making jar)
Wooden stirrer
Temp prob
Pan
Hot water
Hob
You will also need a away of squeezing the excess mix when the processing is complete. This can be any method you wish but bare in mind the mix will be hot when it comes to filtering.
Tubs for storing and filtering the mix.

I weighed out 10gram of dry trim that's between 3-12month old.
The dryer the better as the VG will absorb and remaining water and along with it the chlorophyll.
You can bake it in an oven at 90c for 20 mins or until it falls to bits when rolled between fingers.

I then added to the jar enough VG to cover the trim and then a bit more on top (around 1") it turned out to be 400ml I used.

Put this jar in the pan along with water and heat it all up until the mix gets to 80c then maintain this temp for 30 mins stirring frequently.

When times up remove the jar and let it cool down to room temp.

You should get somat like this after one heat and stir cycle.

This needs repeating 5-6 times which is where I am at the moment.
2 of 6 runs down.

I still have to get some way of squeezing the excess juice from the trim come finishing
Think I'll have to in my shed and knock somat up.

That's it for now I'll update with pics later when I've done more heat and stir cycles.

No. Cause it's only heated to 80c the THC CBD CBNs turn molten but dont evaporate or vaporise.

At the end I'll need to a decarb of the mix to activate the acids so that when its vaped it will get me high.

I've been looking at different recipes for this stuff and the amounts off weed and VG used.
I decided it would be easier if I could work out how much weed/1ml VG these recipes were using.
Only thing is I'm not overly confident with my results.
Here's what I've found so far in the recipes and I think I've worked out the W/VG ratio?
Ive divided the W by the VG
5.5g W - 60ml VG = 0.091 g/1ml
28g W - 1000ml VG = 0.028g/1ml
10g W - 400ml VG = 0.025g/1ml
I know the calculation is correct but is the answer I've got truly the g/ml?

Next question lol.
If I wanted say 2g of weed in my 1.6ml cartridge and I wanted to make a 100ml batch.
What would be the formula to work this out.

Times like these I wish I'd payed more attention at school lol.

125g/100ml gets you 2g/1.6ml

Evening.
I've now finished cooking the mix, Its be cooked and stirred and cooled 6 times.
The weeds been in the VG for 26hrs.

Now it's time to start the filtering.
I used.
2 kilner jars
Muslin cloth
Chip pan sieve
Glass bowl
400 micron stainless steel mesh

I started with a muslin cloth in a chip pan sieve in a glass bowl.

It's just the same as any other filtering from here on.
You can do it any way you find the easiest.

I heated the mix a little to make it run easier thought the cloth.

Next I squeezed the rest out of the cloth with a G clamp contraption I built, soz I've no pics but it got a little messy when the clamp slipped lol.
Any way this is what I ended up with

Next put the mix back in the cleaned jar and take the second jar and put some mesh under the rim part of the lid.
Put some mix in the mesh and wait.

I've placed the jars in the oven on its lowest setting to help keep the mix more viscous
That's where I'm at the moment. It's taken around and hour to do around 100ml.

I'm not going to do the whole 400ml because I might want to do a second run if this isn't strong enough.

Yeah dude, I got bubble bags too, ice wax is my favorite form of extraction.

Ok think I have a problem?

I've just pulled 30ml from the filtered jar, put it in a small jar and placed that into a bath of crisp and dry and heated to 120c.

I was expecting to see bubbles coming from the mix but nothing???

Has any body any idea what's going on?

Problem sorted I rekon.

I emailed the site where is found the recipe about the decarb this Is what I got back.

" Why would you Decarb if using in a Vape pen where it will Decarb upon vaping? Also know it will be low strength as glycerine has limitations. "

Bit sharp but I guess it answers my question lol.

Got my vape pen on charge at work another 7 hrs then I can go home and play :)
