Creation of my g'room and my 2nd grow. (type_m is my mentor)

Hi thought I'd start a new diary, I've just started some work in the g'room and when that's done I will start the 2nd grow, I'm still undecided what I want to Try next :)

After all that is done I will be making air vents,light pullies etc. Unfortunately I can't just board and plaster the room because of damp and tanking a damp cellar properly isn't cheap lol will update with photos as I go along

Try & get ratchets rather than yoyos for your lights. Am i right that you can vent out of the cellar?

Alright mate good weekend? Got tonsillitis me so I've been dying the last few days! Ok I will look at ratchets then, yes this time they will be more sure circulation, there's an old coal shoot I can drill some holes through the cement to let air in or out as well

Oh okay was just wondering mate :) I was just about to post again and say it doesn't matter coz if I get that water butt and that air pump bar then the water feed will have plenty of oxygen in it :)

Seeds are ordered, 5x the incredible bulk amd 10x bulk smash auto! NOT for all at once lol I just got exited and couldn't choose between because the bulk smash is crossed with incredible bulk and is good in high heat green house conditions too, I'm off on holiday on the 4th if August so I'm aiming to start by the end of the week

Thanks I decently did 6 plants in a tent down there with help from type m,was a struggle for right humidity that's why I'm doing a room now and getting air circulation sorted etc

Yea it's a budget grow room lol nothing fancy but there will be so much more room :) it's will just be 100% better than that bloody tent,I couldn't even stand up in that haha. Will update later when I will have 95% completed :)

Yep, throughout (unless you are air cooling, then you can go as low as 8") You might as well start them off under the CFL first though :)

Got plenty of room, got a walkway down the side, plenty of room to work in here :D I should of done this from the start I'm well happy with it :) how many cfls? Got 2 300w dual spec? How long would they stay under them for? Christ on a bike, you bought the whole shop 😂. Just remembered they're autos, so you're going to want them in their final pot pretty much straight away. Autos don't like being repotted, so it's HPS & LED from the off. Your seedlings can start under one though 👍

Yeah they'll do mate. I normally use root riot cubes & put them straight into the finals once they're rooted. But that will work. You could definitely use the cfl while they're in those though

Oh I have root riot cubes too lol, I could just put them on a tray under the hps then until the roots are showing then plant them :) I was thinking of soaking the root riot cubes in a solution of great white to be honest, what you think to that?

The only reason I said use the cfl while they were small is to save you some leccy money ;)

No need to do anything to root riot cubes, they already have stuff in them if you read the spiel on the packet. Save the GWS for when you pot on :)

I know, I have about 2000w of lights including the cfls lol I was thinking with this hps I pro ably won't even spend more electric coz I won't need the heater on 24/7 hopefully and them oil heaters are expensive

No I put them straight in the cubes inside a propagator in a warm place. That way when they pop they're where you want them.

After 3 days I'll put the propagator under a cfl ready for them surfacing. They all appear within 3-5 days. Simple.

You don't want them stretching any more than that however. Make sure that light is the recommended distance away & get an oscillating fan on them to start strengthening the stems. Make them dance in the wind 👍

Oh & you'll probably have to wet the cubes a couple of times a day until they go into the pots. Shouldn't be more then a few days until they're ready for the airpots

Once the tap root is sticking of the bottom. If any are being slow but are established above ground then they will be fine too. I've potted up plenty when there's nothing showing out of the bottom.

Yep they still standing and have turned green :) when they 1st popped up they were a pale yellow colour lol also I've just been down amd roots have popped through the bottom, I've started filling air pots but need 3 more bags of coco that I'm going to go get at 10am then get them in their final homes :)

My god I forgot how much water coco takes when it's dry lol I've put them under the hps and one of the 300w Leds for now mate, lights currently off for 4 hour. Yeah stick with 0.4 for now. Your pre soak & all feeds should always be Ph'd to 5.8. Silicon should be added first, then your grow, then PH.

Cool, I've left one dry pot of coco so I an tell the difference between wet and dry a bit easier. Off to go find a tap connector and a hose today so can fill that water butt up, when should I open them co2 bags do you think? And do I want them hanging above the plants like I showed in the pictures before?

Oh Okie doke, I had to use a lot on my pre soak it worried me a bit lol I'm buying a new ph tester today coz even though calibrated it again im not 100% it's working right so better to be safe than sorry :)

Yea I've got that mate, something didn't seem right though and I didn't change anything, I diluted the ph down same as always but it seemed to take a lot more even thought the ph wast even massive compared to before, in the 7's it been higher than that when ive had to use down

Did you check your water PH to see if that changed? It happens. Mine is usually 7-7.2 but it came out over 8 when they were working on the local reservoir

Obviously I'll train however you tell me to mate I've just been looking at all the different ways to get more of an idea coz I've never seen it done in real life, I do feel more calm about about doing it after watching a few vids, I saw an auto that had been trained, northern lights I think it was...14.2oz off an auto? Time for a spray of an calmag. Just after lights off give them a good soaking (2ml per litre) top & bottom of the leaves.

Remember to increase EC to 0.9 total on next feed. The new growth is all good, so nothing to be concerned about.

Oh & wtf is that mighty growth enhancer 😂 definitely didn't need that along with the c02 bags, an revive etc etc

Sweet wasn't sure if it was enough or too much :) even though I had fans last time I had no space for the oscillating fan, even though it's warm in there it doesn't feel it because of the air movement where as in the tent you'd lose a stone just opening the door 😂 just been to get some smaller trays to turn upside down for the pots to sit on coz my memory is that bad if I ever forget to get rid of the run off the plants wings be sitting in it :) if that makes send lol I'll show ya

Done, not fed them yet. Going to feed them later coz I'm out all day tomorrow down at Wembley! The roots are out of the bottom of the plants, won't damage them raising them up like that will it? And the new growth looks fine I think :) only leaves look like they have deficiency are the bottom ones like I showed before :) the plants use up the nutes in bottom leaves anyway so they always go like that don't they or am I wrong?

Yeah once there's enough stem to tie down. Not be too long for that. You could top them now but I don't think your worry levels would cope with taking a pair of scissors to your babies 😂

As for topping. I just counted the leaves on the plants & you have 4 sets of fan leaves with the 5th set coming through. You want to cut that 5th set off before they grow/open out.

Cool yea wasn't as bad as what I thought lol just when you read stuff online trying to learn it can just make you worry more than ya need to lol like a lot of people from what I've read don't or daren't top autos but you said it was good so that's all I needed to hear :)

They do officialy need time to recover, but you'll see how hardy these plants really are as they'll be throwing leaves out again in no time.

That's the silicon that I use, but I have noticed that there's bottles kicking about with different instructions. Mine says 5ml per 10 litre which is 1/2ml per litre. Check yours though & go off that.

Definitely nothing wrong on the pics. It's just how that plant grows. Heat/wind stress is a lot more noticeable than that...

Cool. What you need to do right now is make sure those lower budsites are being properly exposed to the light. There will be up to 4 budsites below the top set of leaves on each plant. Try & tuck the big leaves under the budsites below so they're getting full light. Looking at the pics - you should be able to do this on most plants already.
