Hey up talkers and fellow growers.
So grow attempt number 3 with some Dutch Passion Auto Colorado cookies courtesy of Dutch passion and Macky, for the grow out. Hopefully I can grow these to their full potential (I will try I promise) [emoji1787]. Second grow was much better than my first grow and im looking to try and better it again. I have learnt alot being a member here in a very short space of time. Had alot of help along the way from alot of members (Mon the talk) . I am still a newbie but being grow number 3 I thought I'd post here instead of the newbie section. Hope you can follow along, there is always something going wrong in my diaries so I'll try keep u entertained haha.
Equipment is same as before but will be upgrading, tent, lights, reflector all before these go into flower. Tent being first as I need more space I have gone for the secret jardin dr90v3. This will arrive next week. I have already upgraded extraction to a systemair rvk with cheapo speed controller (hope it works) , a new oscillating fan along with two more clip ons, 4inch inline intake fan (if needed). Fan heater and oil radiator if needed I'm gonna try run this grow cooler than the last. Lights will be 250w hps for veg and 400 for flower. Rhino Pro carbon filter. Will be running lights 24/0 until full flowering begins and switch to 20/4 humidity depending.
Mixing my own soil using a base of verve multipurpose compost. And adding some ingredients of my own. I had help with this mix from Gaz (hurry back mate). I'll be adding.
Perlite
Neem meal
Krill
Basalt
Kelp
Gypsum
Mykos, Mycorrhizal fungi
Oyster shell (some fine and some grit)
Will be growing 2 in 12ltr fabric pots. I have ecothrive charge to top Dress later in the grow if needed and some instant microbe tea if needed too. I am toying with idea of making my own tea brewing set up as I've got the bug for growing all sorts at the moment haha. I have neem oil, horticulture soap for pest control and prevention, and buddahs tree organicus for flowering nutes
I will be soaking the seeds tomorrow morning and if both germ I may have an experiment with the 3rd.

Anyways hope u all follow along and join in when u can. I'll be asking for some Sort of advise along the way no doubt.
Cheers

Nice mate, I really enjoyed growing these!! Good luck man, subbed up, smash it!I'm gonna give it my best shot dude. Have been looking at some of the pics online some very nice colours going on. I will have a shiny new parabolic (shinobi ultra) by flower time so I'm hoping I can keep the temps low enough for some nice colour. I think my temps have been too high at conapoy level before as buds seem to be really crispy at the top so hoping I can stop that with a decent vented reflector and even more air circulation.

Some pics of my soil build.
Started with 20ltrs of b&q verve multi compost, then added my perlite roughly 4ltrs, mixed that up then added all my ammendments and then gave it all a good mix for around 5 minutes. I filled my pots to around and inch or two from the top and filled with plain verve and perlite. Pots have been covered with film and left in the garage ready for when the tap roots are showing.

Tap Roots are out already. Gotta clean down my tent fit the new extraction and then they will be buried in soil. Getting the room the tent is in up to temp as we speak. Aiming for around 12-15c which will Mean the tent with the 250w hps will be around 25c. Still waiting on my heat mat [emoji22].

They had around 50ml water this morning and a few sprays into the dome. They have just had another few sprays of water each and again will have some water in the morning as I'm away for 12hrs again. Temps at base of pots is around 18c and inside the dome 22c that will increase when they sprout as my lights will be moved closer. The lights are on purely for heat at the moment.

Both had 250ml of water. Humidifier has dropped temps to around 18. Now got the heater running to warm it up. Humidity is up at 80% tho. This new tent keeps it more humid it seems, with better airflow. I have two passive intakes stuffed with pc fan filter pads and my extraction reduced slightly, think I've got a good exchange going on for the veg stage of this grow so far.
The yellowing on the leaves is from water from the humidifier as the fan is blowing the the vapour over the plants. Once they get a bit bigger I will reduce the humidifier.
I think I'm gonna attempt to top one of them and let the other do its thing.
Cheers

I have to do this, Wags...I built my tent in situ in a cupboard. It was a nightmare...until I re-read the instructions. I built the frame in the cupboard and then pulled the bottom of the tent on first bringing the top up the back and over the frame - piece of piss when you do it like they suggest - that was a Hydrolab tent, btw.

I put it all up pulled the tent over the frame and the door was in the wrong place [emoji1787][emoji1787][emoji1787]. I have no room to turn it so I took the upper part of the frame off while I was inside and then spun the cover round the bottom then managed to get the upper built back inside all this while I was inside the tent [emoji1787][emoji1787][emoji1787]. It must been a funny sight. Mine is a secret jardin dr90 version 3 its 185cm tall and my box is 190.[emoji1787][emoji1787][emoji1787]. The box is only 110cm wide too. Looking good wags, I would be looking to top at this point as well but I'm not even sure about it looks like you have the 3 nodes and the 4th coming in, you COULD fim instead.... But i would stick with topping (or not) as fim ia hard af to nail. Hotshot does a pretty good job with that though.

If I recall we have both grown Fast and Vast auto. She definitely does not like to be topped.

Worked compared to what? For the cindy jock growoff I topped 2 out of 3. All 3 were great but the one I left alone was the biggest yielder.Cool, no other outside factors to that? Unfamiliar strain, better nutes, different phenos etc etc... but that's not a good example nor would mine be. Different scenarios etc.

My point was when I topped all my autos the yield was more than expected and that's various strains too. Here i would say do one and not the other but lst both.

Nothing wrong with keeping it simple. I am tempted to gently lower the main stem to break dominance. This is what I'm thinking. Looking at the lower branches and how quick they are catching up. Pull the tops down a bit and then train the rest out.

CityDweller

Actually I take it back. I just reviewed the grow off photos. The biggest yielded by far was the plant that was transplanted mid flower. She was also topped. She also took the longest.

Transplanted mid flower??Yeah. All 3 started to yellow mid flower in 11 liters organic living super soil (meant to be a water only grow)

I took 1 of the 3 and transplanted into 19 liters soil. The other two I started feeding nutes. I managed to maintain just a bit of green on the 2 11 liters. The 19 liters was much larger and much greener. Just lost about a few days for transplant.

I always transplant mid flower if plant starts to yellow. Works every time. That was my first time trying it with an auto.

Hey up dudes.
These babies are 3 weeks old today. Getting busy and having to tuck the biggest fan leaves away all the time. It's a right pain the hoop to water them now. Done some More LST this morning. Im pretty sure the stretch has started on one of em now I will leave that one alone now I don't want to damage anything haha. They smell incredible already. I'm away Thursday to Sunday I'm hoping I can get away with watering before I go and when I get back. I'm not sure I trust the missus to give em a good enough watering haha.

I wouldnt expect you need the organicus at all mate. Remember the amendments take time to become available and will basically slow release through the grow. Just use your tea in flower to speed up the breakdown by increasing microbe pops. Top dress neem, kelp and Basalt at the start of flower too :) malted barley as well if you have it :)

Microbes make food available so you can have all the food in the soil you want but the availability of food is rate limited by the microbe populations

So 4 weeks old today. I've ballsed the LST up on one of em I think.
Not sure what happened really two colas just haven't kept up with the rest. It's the same plant as another cola just dried up?? Is it possible I did damage to some of the roots by accident pulling her over?? Possibly my poor attempt at the LST.
Anyway other than that they look and smell good. I'm gonna have to defoliate at some point I will wait a week or so first. Let the stretch stop.

5 weeks old Today. Both Had a defol, mainly lower leaves and a few upper that were blocking light. 2 or 3 yellowing leaves on the bigger plant but that's it. The bigger one is getting dry quicker. Watering isn't in the schedule today. Gonna have to make some Time later somehow.

If you need a mulch i would use a dry materiel sutch as straw or some landscape fabric cut to shape and placed on top of the soil.

There will always be with these things mate, and I wouldnt just ignore it mate. Read up and make your own choice based on what you read. I wouldnt want responsibility for you having problems mate.

Pablo is an experienced grower mate and Id listen if I were you but I will be continuing to use canna leaves as mulch :) my opinion is straw is far more risky :)

You can treat the straw for pests I guess :)

My mulch, but again doesnt mean Im right at all mate. Mine is part living and part decaying.

Im willing however to be wrong and have issues mate, I dont think I am of course, but I am ready to be.

We know you can get to the end with no mulch at all so taking it off is OK mate and you should if you have doubts.

The canna leaves dry with in 24 hours or so and become dry material quickly I will add.

Fabric mulch added this morning. Noticing some strange colouring going on one the smaller of the 2 plants. Looks like light bleaching to me but other plant is fine? Lower growth looks OK too. I've swapped them round in the tent see if that does anything. Both had exactly the same soil, water, and top dress. There are some rust marks but I'm sure that is from spilt water or from last spray down. Some pics below.

No. Need mate.....

Clackamas coots got ya back....

Take 1/4 cup of kelp meal and cover that with about 1/2 cup of water and let it completely re-hydrate. Once that is done then pour off any excess water and use that for a kelp meal tea.

Take the hydrated kelp meal and puree it as much as possible to make a kelp meal paste. You'll want to do this in small batches and store in the refrigerator in the coldest place which is usually in a corner.

When you need to apply a kelp meal tea than add about 2 tsp. to 1 gallon of water, shake until it's completely dispersed and this is a safe concentration for spraying the leaves and you would probably want to double that amount to apply to the soil.

That's it!

9 weeks old today. Some pics coming in a bit.
I found some spider mites on my citrus tree in the house!! [emoji33][emoji33]My groom is in the garage, and I haven't been in there since. I've been spraying my garden and garage weekly, Luckily I have found no mite on any of my other fruit or veg or any plants apart from this mini citrus tree. Which has now been treated. I am dreading going in the groom in a bit for a good old rummage around I think I might cry if I find mites at this stage of the grow. So fingers crossed.
I'll update in a bit with some pics.

Well no sign of any spider mites. I'm not religious at all, but thank the fooking lord.[emoji28] Yellowing continued on the bigger one. I've removed alot of dead leaves. She has had a feed 7 days apart now. And just had water today. I have a tea brewing for next water. She does smell amazing still tho. The other one has some crazy foxtail growth going on. Very sticky tho. Not sure why? Stress or lights not sure, I'm going to swap them round in the tent tomorrow see if that changes things.

After reading another post on here somewhere today. I'm beginning to think my tap water is the cause of the yellowing in all my grows. After beeing sat for 24hrs the ph is 7.5/7.8 if I remember correctly (I haven't tested this grow at all). Each time the yellowing has started later this may be because each grow I've used more soil. I've raised my light to 18" aswell it was at 13.5". Some leaves are showing some dark spots and blemishes now. Considering using ro water next grow. Or find a good way to naturally reduce the pH of my water everytime I use it. Forgot to take pics will get some tomorrow.
