Our yearly Pepsi challenge is on its way and will be starting 4/4/2020
Hopefully this year we will get some great interest in the competition.

As it's being run in honour of one of our Greatest past members face

This was originally his ideas and since then has been very popular with our members
Because of this myself and Rasta have decided we should have some great prizes for you guys and with the help of one of our sponsors Ali bongo this is going too be a challenge/competition not to be missed

So clear a space in ya room and get a 2ltr bottle of Pepsi at the ready ( our overseas friends can use a smaller bottle but nothing bigger than a 2ltr )
And yes it must be Pepsi original full fat
I'll be running the challenge thread and a pictorial thread again

Last year's rules only dates will change
Only Pepsi 2 liter bottles allowed.
Seeds only must be used. No clones allowed.
Autos & Photoperiod plants are both acceptable.
Any medium can be used soil/coco/perlite whatever - but the plants roots must be inside the Pepsi bottle. Hydro entrants are not permissible
You must do at least one picture update a week, in this thread, which contains something with the date like edge of a newspaper, a phone/tablet or something else clearly showing the date.
Should you keep your Pepsi Bottle in another container (to stop it toppling over) then, at least once a month, you will need to remove it from that container to picture it, so that we can clearly see that the roots have not grown outside of the Pepsi Bottle.
At the close of the competition you will be asked to pick your best picture from your updates (If the pic isn't in your updates then it won't count!) which will be used in a voting poll that will run for 14 day.
Your first update must be of your seed before germination (strain info would be nice too)
All entrants must have 100 posts and have been a member for at least one month.

I don't think I can make this grow happen inside because even though my current plant should be ready around that time I already have one vegging to flower after that.
So it will likely be an autoflower outdoors in which case I rather start a little bit later although 4th of April could probably work as well.

Thanks for the offer Valentina but I have high hopes that the same shop where I bought the 1.5 liter last time will have the 2 liter bottles as well. The 1.5 liter was MAX so chances are very good they carry 2 liter regular Pepsi.

Depending on plant size and environment . Youll end up doing twice a day roughly by mid flower . Even if you do a morning feed then znother when back from work and another before bed you should be golden [emoji1303]

Music to my ears this. Looking at Ice's recent two grows with blueberry first in soil under LED and then smashing it out of the park in coco under 400w HPS really showed that the two growing methods are not at all in the same league.

Got my regular Pepsi Bottle. Time to get prepping. I will use the 3rd Humboldt Seeds Fast Flowering Green Crack seed for this one. Finish the grow off with a grow comp!

hey mr canna ive got a dark devil auto currently running and its one hardy motherfucker i nearly killed it and it refused and created a new taproot/sprout i cant explain it haha so its deffo worth a thought for this challenge they seem to be very hardy and seem to just go however the purple lemonades getting a bit of a rep now and would be very nice to see that, im hoping i will be wthin the criteria to do this nxt month and il give it a go i reckon probs try that ridiculous ultimate auto supposed to have a huge yield

Good that you mention it because I nearly forgot that I have some grow medium prep to do as well.
Might go with an autoflower outdoors because I don't think I'll have any space indoors when the comp starts, too many things to do at the moment to be building my new groom.

Plant doesn't even need to be finished by the end of the challenge but as MC says it's all about that final shot of the plant
The better the pictures the more votes.
Germination pictures and weekly dated updates are a must and dates must be shown like the rules state .
I'll start the challenge thread a few days before it starts
With all the rules and prizes and then lock it until the challenge starts
There will also be a pictorial thread running parallel with the challenge thread but this will be locked and only I'll have access to it moving everyone's weekly updates over till the end of the challenge and then it will become open to all for comments etc etc

Most of us go straight into the Pepsi bottle and use what we cut off to create a dome or chop another bottle up and use that

The only way that wouldn't work is if I had already grown a Pepsi plant (I haven't) and am now simply copying a picture of the BBC (or ITV, if you like) each week and posting it with a picture of the Pepsi plant I haven't already grown.
If there was a general level of acceptance that I hadn't previously grown a Pepsi plant and that screen grabbing that day's headline was a suitable way to offer proof of its age, then that would be splendid.
If not, I'll have to come up with something even more elaborate.

To save a huge amount of time, I could just list 10 tins (to cover 10 weeks of growing) that I have in my cupboard and an administrator (or moderator) could randomly relist them and then I adhere to that list for each future picture.
But no! What if I eat one of them? What if empty tins weren't part of the deal?
This is a MUCH bigger problem than I first thought.

A shopping receipt worked somewhat for me last year even though it was a pain to get that clearly visible in the picture with a camera without viewfinder or screen.
This year however with corona I leave the house even less which means I may not see a store for two weeks on end and possibly even longer if this keeps dragging on.
I really like MrCannabis1r's idea but instead of a print, which Herb has already mentions wouldn't work for him perhaps we can just write something on a sheet of A4 paper? This could be a number that's posted by the admin at the beginning of each week or perhaps even a phrase such as for example "I'm a non-compliant twat".
I'm also fine with not being able to win any of the prices but would really like to participate in the growing and have my Pepsi grow be part of the official grow thread and voting (assuming my plant makes it that far :laugh:)
