lowryder #2 cupboard grow

well im nearly finished with my first grow and im going to be refurbing the room top to bottom so i decided to make myself a small cupboard for a project inbetween.

heres the cupboard that i adapted form my homemade deckstand, basically put a front on it added some intake fans to the bottom right side, 2 exhaust fans at the top back aswell. used pc fans for this hooked upto a psu

would of took an inside pic but with no proper cfl's theres nothing to look at

at the moment i just got 4 20w cfl bulbs (household type) running until i get my 250's tomorrow

so far i germinated 5 lowryder #2 feminised seeds just by placing them under the soil, i know people will say use the paper towel method but i used this method for my first grow and had 100% germ rate so i stuck with what i know

well hopefully they will get all the light they need, got 2x250w cfl's and also just got 2x125w cfl's, so plenty to go around, maybe too much :D

to be honest i'll be happy to get anything off them, just wanted a little project to keep me happy during dry times of refurbing my proper room

also cupboard will always make a good home for seedlings and clones etc..

a little update a week into the grow. they seem to be doing ok and they are now under a 125w cfl with reflector

one of them seems to be growing away from the light and on a 45 degree angle for some weird reason, so i stuck a stick in the soil and propped it up right, hopefully should be fine as its looking very healthy, didnt get a pic though

tomorrow i gotta return my 250w cfl's as they broke when being delivered to me, so gonna return myself and collect a new pair that were promised to me, dont think i will run these though right now, but will when the plants get a little bigger they should have 750watts to soak up

also just added a few 20w cfl's shining up from the bottom, hopefully this will help the bottom of the plants to.

smell aint too much of an issue but my main grow is starting to get out of hand, whole house is stinking of the stuff and me being the only smoker its not a good thing, that will all be sorted soon though.

dont think theres no other way than carbon filters etc.. other than masking the smell with air freshener but you'll be spraying that stuff all day lol

well i just repotted the plants up into their final pots, 8 1/2L which should be enough i hope. will post pic shortly.

i ended up putting in the 2 250w cfl's but straight after i had to take them out due to heat issues, ended up rising to 32 degrees in minutes, anyone know of any good extractor fans that are quiet?

no need for expensive fans, i've sorted it, turns out i must have knocked a wire or something earlier and one of the intakes wasnt working, all sorted now and temp is at a constant 24 degrees with 2 x 250watt cfl's running

now all i gotta do is hook up one 125 watt cfl up up the other end for a small vegging area and all sorted :D

might add the other 125 but i gotta make sure i can keep temps down enough

these seem to grow super quick, one is struggling though, damn runt :(

gonna try and fit another 125 cfl in tomorrow at the far end and get the veg area going, got 10 lemon stinkies just waiting for the pot

also done a partial harvest on a trainwreck from my other grow and got about an ounce, also great white shark and got about 18g so im happy up until the proper harvest day :D

i've managed to get the 125w cfl fitted down the far end and also planted all the lemon stinkies, temps havent changed at all when fitting the extra cfl so all good so far

they seem to be growing like mad, the big plant has shot up like 3 inches in about 5 days, and the little runt has finally picked up and has now got a few sets of leaves, will add pics later

also 6 of the lemon stinky i planted have sprouted and seem to be doing well, the other 4 are still hiding though and gotta see how they pick up

sure they will be ok. my gummy guns took a few days to show their heads. i was shitting myself thinking i had stored them wrong but 100% germ rate get in!! pretty good for a noob. hahaha

thanks mate, its only my auto/seedling cupboard :D

i have a main room for bigger plants but its pretty basic at the mo, just order lots of bits yesterday so gonna be re-doing that room with tents instead, nice and light sealed plus it means no boarding of windows etc.. so no neighbours get suspicious

doing very well, no pics because camera batteries kept dying, all sorted though and will post some up later. at the mo theres only 625w in the cupboard, only due to me being a lazy bugger and having the memory of a goldfish that i havent fitted the other cfl yet, but i might actually do that tonight, thanks for the reminder.

lookin lovely jubbley ya grow mate.how did u wire them fans? im not guna go buying expensive shit so im guna do the pc fan thing but i want the wiring to be safe as houses.be specific mate as i have very limited knowledge about electrics. KEEP IT GREEN:thcleaf:

i used an old pc power supply (psu) to power all the fans, all safe as long as you dont over do on the amps, which is pretty hard when each fan is like 0.4 amps or something like that.

anyway, get an old psu and you want to cut the green wire on the main wire harness, connect this to a black wire on same harness, basicly just earthing it out, this will aloow the psu to be powered up without being connected to any other pc components. then take your power for the fans from any wires giving out 12v, usually yellow wires, so many power leads you can connect fans off individual wires or can connect a few off one, all upto you, simple as mate

you should look on the sick plants thread.........you never know.....make sure your lights are not too low also

another little update. over night one of my plants grew 5 inches, but its stretched badly. dont know why because the light was very close, so close that where i didnt check it quick enough it burned one of the leaves :mad:

its seems to be doing ok but im gonna have to re-home it in my new tent setup later tonight, its got no head room left in my cupboard so its gotta be done.

the girls are now in their new home under a 600w hps, run a test run with my tent etc.. before putting them in and all was well, hopefully they should benefit from the move

bit of an update, had a ph fluctuation problem but got a horticare ph pen and sorted it all out and now all the plants have all perked up a bit

haven't updated this in ages but i have now chopped them down, they could have gone a few days more but i needed the space. overall yield was just over 100g for 5 plants, so im happy for a while :)
