Right folks, here's some pics of my first foray into indoor growing.

This is part 1. My seedling/clone/veg room.
Part 2 is the flower room which is still being built.

The story so far.....

This is the space i decided to use. Odd shape but thats what was there.

https://www.thctalk.com/gallery/data/500/medium/IMG_4349_resize.JPG

The odd shape made cutting the angles a right bugger.
There's the old saying about measuring twice and cut once, well when your wasted you gotta measure at least 7 times, cause things can easily end up short.:stoned-smilie:

I've raised it off the ground cause it gets a bit damp down the bottom now and again, and i don;t need the full height.

So the framing goes in.

https://www.thctalk.com/gallery/data/500/medium/IMG_4351_resize.JPG

Things are going well so far.
Once the frame was done i put up some plaster board i had lying about.

https://www.thctalk.com/gallery/data/500/medium/IMG_4452_resize.JPG

Next was the door.
I've used chipboard for this, but i will probably change it at some point cause it aint gonna be sturdy enough.

https://www.thctalk.com/gallery/data/500/medium/IMG_4454_resize.JPG

Here it is with all the gaps sealed up.

https://www.thctalk.com/gallery/data/500/medium/IMG_4471_resize.JPG

The panel on the left will get boarded up after the inside is painted white.

Next pic, testing the light for size.

https://www.thctalk.com/gallery/data/500/medium/IMG_4479_resize.JPG

and with the light on

https://www.thctalk.com/gallery/data/500/medium/IMG_4487_resize.JPG.

Thats it so far.

It just really needs painting and ventilation added and its ready to roll.
Got to finish my flower room first, which is under way.

The light's a 250w cfl from our favourite horticulturist suppliers Greens (http://www.greenshorticulture.co.uk/index.asp).
I'm going for white paint on the walls for the moment.

Any thoughts, tips or comments always welcome, especially on the ventilation side of things.
I got a 4"fan and filter ordered, for the flower room.

That's a lovely job so far Riff ... well done M8.

You wont need to go over the top with ventilation in that space with an enviro, I think i'd be tempted to try passive intake(s) near the bottom via some ducting to keep light out & venting out from the top using a small ruck/rvk or maybe even a bathroom extractor if the temps are not too high.

Cheers for the comment MT, mucho appreciated.
I'll probably go for some sort of bathroom extraction, and see how it goes.:) maybe get another ruck at a later date. Cheers mate.:smokie:

Cheers bubbs, its prolly cost about £90-£100 in total, for both this room and me flowering room. Thats for the timber and a few sheet materials, paint, screws etc.. which aint bad really. :pimped:

yeah mate i always really admire people who contrsuct stuff! looks like a pro job man!! bravo

Cheers bitts, i certainly aint no pro mate. There was a lot of head scratching and a few sair fingers involved. :p

Excellent work there mate, that's very well done! :)

As for ventilation, all I can suggest is to site the inlet vent at the bottom right, as you look at it in the pictures, and the outlet vent above the door.

Other than that you've got it all covered there.

Cheers for the input yardbird.

There's a loft space above, so i was gonna vent into there. A fan at the top/back.
As for the intakes, i thought maybe 2 at each bottom corner and that would hopefully stop any dead spots as far as circulation was concerned.

Okay Folks, I had got this far, so far.......

:joint::smokie::bigjoint::mr:

.....so time to finish it off.

After finishing off the boarding up and painting and adding venting etc..

I've ended up with this for all my seedlings and clones/keepers.

https://www.thctalk.com/gallery/data/500/medium/IMG_4628.JPG

The propagator is in there heating up the soil so its toasty for the seeds to be tucked into.

I've got one passive intake on the base and one on the door.

https://www.thctalk.com/gallery/data/500/medium/IMG_4629.JPG

And from the outside, all sealed up.
https://www.thctalk.com/gallery/data/500/medium/IMG_4612.JPG

Theres gony be some seeds going in there very soon, so a hope its up to the job.

Right on to my flower room. Its much the same really but bigger.

Here's a quick rundown on the build.

1st up is the space, this is what i got.
https://www.thctalk.com/gallery/data/500/medium/IMG_4486_resize.JPG

Next up is the frame for the walls and door.
https://www.thctalk.com/gallery/data/500/medium/IMG_4571_resize.JPG

Quickly followed by the floor and boarding.

https://www.thctalk.com/gallery/data/500/medium/IMG_4574-resize.JPGhttps://www.thctalk.com/gallery/data/500/medium/IMG_4619.JPG

Next was alot of filling and painting with matt white paint. I'm going to get a white plastic sheet for the floor, the painted chipboard ain't gonna last long.

So, here's the finished thing, please, come in for a wee peek.
https://www.thctalk.com/gallery/data/500/medium/IMG_4624.JPG
https://www.thctalk.com/gallery/data/500/medium/IMG_4625.JPGhttps://www.thctalk.com/gallery/data/500/medium/IMG_4626.JPG
https://www.thctalk.com/gallery/data/500/medium/IMG_4627.JPG
and a final pic of the outside, with the passive intakes positioned near the window
https://www.thctalk.com/gallery/data/500/medium/IMG_4622.JPG

Thats it folks. If anyone can see any problems or things i should change, please feel free to comment, it still needs some fine tuning to get the temps etc. sorted, but apart from that, am champin at the bit tae get growing.:weed:

Cheers folks, RR.

Wow that corner vegging/mother room is quality. I have a space like that, i was going to just get a drobe or mini shed (for a mother room) but that looks a lot better. Would it be possible without a drill? Im no good at DIY as you can porbs tell by the question :D

Thanks for popping in Kaya, my rooms prolly a bit overengineered, but i wanted it to be solid.
I did need a drill and a few other tools, but with a bit of cunning and good smoke inside ya, anythings possible.

I
