Beginner

As a beginner, I would appreciate comments and recommendations on where I'm at and what to do next. Seeds were started and 6 put in planters 8 weeks ago.

Space: 3 ft by 4 ft with 6 plants
Temp: 72-75 F
Water: wick method with plant food (10-10-15) in water basin
Lighting: 3 1/2 ft flourescent fixture with 3 ea 38W bulbs for 1st 7 weeks, 24 hours on, no off. At the end of 7 weeks, a 2nd set of 3 ea 38W fourescent bulbs added and cycle changed to 12 on, 12 off. Total watts (6x38=228). I'm in a closely controlled area so don't have access to other lights.

At end of 7th week, plants were 22 inch tall. At end of 8th week (1 week of 12on/12 off) plants are 26 inch tall.

I can't tell how many females/males yet. The grow room closet (3x4) is in a unused bedroom. Can I keep the males in the bedroom under window sunlight but outside the closet?

Any other suggestions comments are appreciated.

no point in keeping the males mate , just shred em and bin em.

I agree, they are added bagage so to speak really and if they go into flower and give off pollen then you may risk pollinating your females. :eek:

As it only takes a tiny tiny little bit of pollen to be on your cloths when you visit your girls and they will have it.

that is how you sex your plants mate, although sometimes plants automatically show their sex after a certain amount of veg time.

My Great White Sharks did that after a while.

That really depends on how much time you have and how big you would like your plants to be and how much grow space you have. There are alot of other factors that come into play really mate. But ideally yes it is best to let your plant's mature and show sex from around week 4 to 6 of veg usually to get the most out of a plant.

You can go 12/12 and get your plants to show sex alittle faster (force flowering) if you wanted to and you can even go back to 18/6 (veg) after they have shown to veg them abit longer if you wanted to go that way. https://www.thctalk.com/cannabis-forum/images/icons/icon12.gif

same with females mate, if you leave them long enough.

so u really need to check on ur plants every day or u mite end up with a load of seeds and not much smoke lol

well if you veg them quite large then they shall reveal themselves to you but if you switch to 12/12 then keep an eye on them over the next week or so.
