Off the subject a bit.

But any of you older stoners keep tropical/marine fish.

I think theres nothing better to look at when you smashed then a load of cool coloured fish just floating in what looks like thin air.

Fish are fantastic and watching them swim about just draws you in.. Maybe thats why they have them in waiting rooms in the hope your so lost in the fishtank that you don't realise just how long you have been waiting, its a very therapeutic thing to do according the head dr's, to sit and watch fish...

My brother has a marine tank and four large cold water tanks at my mum's house, I was going to get a fish tank but then remembered how many goldfish i had killed in the past and thought better of it ;) Although my brother did offer do look after it for me but he is off to uni in September to study marine biology in Plymouth so that idea is about as good as a chocolate fireguard.

Ugh I have just remembered when I was emptying one of my mums tanks out years ago with the "hose and suck" technique.. I didn't manage to get the tube out of my mouth fast enough before the dirty fish water and a dead fishes eye made there way through the tube and ended up in my mouth *gags at the memory*

I made the same mistake but with water from an old radiator. God I'll never do that again .

Ooooo ewwwwww! No thats not good..*wrinkles nose*
Talking of radiators I forgot to drain the radiator in the hall once before I took it off to decorate..
Suppose it was a little bit like this years Glastonbury in my hall!
Isn't it funny how you learn your lesson the hard way ;)

Dont Need To Be Old Mate... I Think That Is The Funnest Thing In The World To Do When Stoned... My Mate Has Got A Little Shark, A Lobster And Some Turtly Thing... Aw Just Watchin Them Chilll And Swim About. Its Awesome, The Lobster Is A Little Bastard Goes Round Causing All Sorts Of Trouble..... Im Defo Gettin A Tank When I Get My Own House. Wana Get Sum Pirahnas...

Keeping Piranhas is actually intense, they're really nervous fish though so you need somewhere quiet to keep them.
I wouldn't by too many either, if one fish gets too thin or too slow they will all kill it.

Do Reptiles count in this thread too?
I keep a couple of snakes and lizards.
Really cool to watch and handle when you're high!

Same! I've got a corn snake and a bearded dragon. The lizard is cool while i'm stoned because it just sits there watching me, if not a little disapprovingly. The snake on the other hand makes a bid for freedom whenever I take my eyes off him lol. Many a time i've woken up to find hes crawled into my computer case or sofa .

My friend has like 5 fish tanks in his house. He has this one fish called an "arowana" that will grow to be 3 feet long:eek:. I love the salty water tanks especialy, the way all the fish glow under that light. This thread realy makes me want a tank. I think I call my friend and ask if he can help set me up. If I get one going all post pic up.

I did the same with petrol at the last Leeds festival trying to get fuel for my lantern. Doesn't taste as nice as it smells I can tell ya.

On the fish subject they are cool. Gonna get some marine fish soon. Kept tropical fish for about 15 years since I was about 12. Great for watching stoned.

Marine are better but harder to look after due to the salt water and more precice requirements.

We don't have any fish now. But i used to have a pair of tiger oscars. They are from the paranha family. They used to fight like fuck. When i was asleep you could hear them fighting and in the morning (every morning) the tank would be in a right mess. You couldn't keep any plant's or anything else other than the fish in there or they would wreck it.

One of them ripped a big peice out of the other ones mouth. They suck up mouth full of stones and they spit them at each other at such a rate it's hard to believe. The teeth they have are mental.

Niceeee, :joint:

Those plecs grow very big if you treat them right. I've seen some in our local store, there about 1 1/2ft.

My dad use to have some angel fish years ago and they used to keep eating his little neons. lol

I currently have around 80-100 adult bettas (the males have to be housed individually because they are so aggressive)... for more info, check out www.bettas4all.nl (my username there is Debby2000)

I also have in various other aquariums: 5 albino corys, 3 kuhli loaches, 10 cardinal tetras, and a bazillion endler guppies. Oh, and also 2 goldfish who'll go back in the tub outside when the weather is warmer. :)

used to keep blue discus as well - personally think they are the king of tropicals

unfortunately the picture isnt of one of mine - used to have 6 in a 5 foot tank . used to feed them on a homemade mix of beef heart and blood worms- had right hassle trying to get that while the foot and mouth scare was in full swing
