Purple Satin

Didn't get round to documenting this one but figured I'd throw some pictures up in here! Strain is Purple Satin, was meant to be an Auto Purple but it seems the auto genes didn't carry over from the parents! The smaller one hermied randomly halfway through flower but the bigun' carried on strong. Not sure on weights(probably around 2oz) but it kept 3 people nice and hazy for a decent amount of time. Beautiful look and taste, no pics of it dried but hoping to crack a few more beans and give it another run soon :)

Vegged on the windowsill for a bit and was waiting for them to show sex before putting them outside, but they weren't auto so we bunged 'em under lights. Didn't really get any pics too early on!

Cheers folks! Absolutely beautiful smoke, not a knockout hit or anything, but the taste is just unreal. And of course it's an absolute pleasure to look at. The chap who created 'em says he grows them for his missus, hehe :laugh: And yeah we've just got a 250hps in that cab. It's nice and exotic though! I'll get some pictures of the Hawaiians they're living with tomorrow and let y'all have a gander. They're pretty damn cool too :bong:

Well these ones were meant to be auto purple, which is a strain created with purple satin and lowryder I believe :) But because they didn't auto they're pretty much purple satins, with a kick for sure. They were extremely quick to flower when they finally got round to it! Your purple satin seeds probably won't be auto and have a high change of pretty purpleage and a lovely parma violet smell :bong:

It's beautiful :) Smoking it is an absolute pleasure, and the high is brilliant for the daytime. It won't put you to sleep(unless you really go for it!) but is one of my favourite daytime highs :bong:

Nice job mate, you can't beat a bit of purple!
I too have had several pheno's from the strain, some grow monstrous with huge cola's, while others stay short and squat. The same applies to the auto-flowering trait. I think one or two more back-crosses to the Lowryder#2 is needed to guarantee auto's.
Have to agree, the strain is an ideal daytime smoke and allows you to carry on with your normal routines, but in a warm, hazy state of mind. For me smoking weed is not about how hammered you can get off a joint/bong at all. Some of the weaker strains have often provided the most enjoyable experiences.

Did you let the hermie run it's course mate, or did you put her to rest? I have had one or two hermie on me in the past, but removing the male flowers allowed the plants to flower fine and produce a nice smoke. The odd seed that i found and germinated usually produced a good female plant without the hermie trait, but as with all feminized seeds, there's always a risk of male flowers appearing.
Good to see you growing em out mate, a bit of colour in a grow room makes things a tad more interesting. ;)

Did this strain smell much? I would really love to grow purple kush/haze but think it might be to smelly from the look of things so this one might be a good one.

Check the temperature, if its to cold then stem and some time leafs become purple.

Yup happened with one of mine last winter. I noticed some purpling on one of my Hammer Heads, just a wee bit but nice :)

what lighting do you use ?
im thinking of upgrading from 300W CFL to 250w hps for my flowering period
im hoping it will be good enough for 3 plants and be able to yeild 1oz per plant

We just used a wee 250MH/HPS, switching about 3 and a bit weeks into flower to avoid stretch. Got a reasonable yield considering the small light IMO!

Really not too sure as we didn't weigh it, and smoked some before it'd cured.. :) But I'd say it was a wee bit over 2oz
