Taking city's without rooting hormone/gel

Does any 1 do it with any success ? I havnt taken cutts for a while and when I looked at my rooting gel last night it had gone really thin and turned brown , but I had taken 6 cutts b4 I noticed so just to be sure I took another 6 with just water , this morning they all look healthy , so I was just wondering what the difference is with how much longer it takes and are they any stronger with hormone.
Is hormone essential or can u happily do it without ?

I have taken clones without using anything, cut stuck in a peat puck and left in the prop under cfl sprayed twice a day and not had any problems with them rooting, imo humidity is the key

this is the way i do it, never used any clonex or stuff like that, the one time i did use a rooting powder they did root but not any faster if i didnt use it so i just keep it simple

check out me cuttings thread dude!!! in propergation and germination. I did what ya on about, cup of water thing, it takes much longer
