ISMOKE Herb is my blog - a look at the situation of cannabis in the UK today. Of course I've recently launched ISMOKE Magazine, and thanks in major part to you all at THCTALK issue 2 is looking bigger and buddier (is that a word?!) :bong:

Anyway the blog features Strain Reviews and a user gallery to upload your pictures (the best of which will go into the Bud Porn - ISMOKE's Wall of Fame). THCDUDEUK was the first winner and also has an interview featured in issue 2 of the magazine.

There is also a stoner music section with 70-odd songs to blaze to and an important videos section containing videos you should watch.

Finally I'm working on a product review section!

I hope you like the site.. Just a disclaimer: I have a forum on there which has helped me gather some of the facebook community together but in no way, shape or form am I or will I ever be trying to promote it on here. THCTALK is the best cannabis community I have encountered, and Rags has done a fine job putting this all together! I know you are all loyal people but I just wanted to make sure you all know I would never disrespect THCTALK in that way.

Just scanned through issue three,looks good - professionally laid out. Like the article on rebranding legalise campaign and the reviews of strains and equipment. If i had a (hopefully constructive) criticism it would be that the magazine is too focused on cannabis. I know thats the point, but reading through it i felt the case gets overstated. I'd like to see other articles of general interest (not cannabis related) to break it up a bit and add interest. Idea being if it also has other things of interest (travel,gadgets iT,other political issues,green issues e.t..c) to read the casual reader might read it for those articles and then read the cannabis ones alongside and be persuaded. Just my twopenneth - keep up the good work you lazy stoner. P.S good point well made about football at pub could be replaced with coffeeshop.

i agree it sometimes can feel a little to heavy in the "cannabis legal now" sense.......but that should deffo stay the mags no1 priority imo!
though a little lighthearted fun and other slightly canna related reviews stories etc etc would be a nice distraction.

still early days for nuffs mag tho....its improving with every issue and hes a gooid guy so no doubt he will take this on board for next time :)

Yo man thanks for the suggestions. I'll take a look at it, but its aim is to be out there to promote legalisation and be as hard-hitting as possible. Glad you enjoyed it and I'll work on new stuff for future issues :)

All are total reads/downloads for each issue going by Yudu and Fileape stats

Issue 1: 3702
Issue 2: 2842
Issue 3: 1663
Issue 4: 354

I think its due to the time that issue 1 has the most reads etc, so over the next few months hopefully they'll shoot up.

jason reed - marketing excellent - There is a similar issue in what scientific research gets funded in the UK and what areas it chooses to study. If you look through the most recent UK research you'll find lots of stuff about Cannabis and psychosis, cannabis triggering mental illness e.t.c , I guess it helped to back up the current 'Skunk' marketing angle/political agenda (nothing better than a few scientic peer reviewed papers to back up your point of view).
However if you look abroad at scientific papers you find positive views about how it helps in lots of physial illnesses with pain relief e.t.c

re marketing - would have been nice to see a mention of the current 'rebranding' of legalise cannabis to clear - with its new focus on medical benefits, as a postive move, in same article

clark french - personal testimony was great as were the reviews

joseph r pietriv - informative,what did he mean bags are bad? bubble bags? and that light regime, very interesting would like to see some hard evidence of that; plants grown side by side under different light regimes. hmmm wonder if it works for autos?
