gave this a try today to see if i can just have one mother with two strains eventually to be flowered. if it works i will start another strain and try graft that also.nice to keep the plant numbers down but not strains.
not to bothered if it doesnt work as i will propably try again.
things i did not do 1.didnt sterilise scapel its an old one,
2.didnt seal with clonex on the outside,
3.didnt put much effort into getting nice even cuts

plant 1 is regular seed alegria from kiwiseeds this will be the main plant taking the other strains, picked this as it has good root growth, handled ph change and nutrients without much fuss and its not a fem seed.going to use that small branch at the bottom which was gonna get clipped anyway
https://www.thctalk.com/cannabis-forum/attachment.php?attachmentid=43150

plant 2 the donor is feminised sourdiesel/orangebud cross bought in dr.cogollo in spain, again pretty easy going plant to grow
https://www.thctalk.com/cannabis-forum/attachment.php?attachmentid=43145

here is alegria and ready for graft.using this knuckle in the plant where i snipped before
https://www.thctalk.com/cannabis-forum/attachment.php?attachmentid=43144https://www.thctalk.com/cannabis-forum/attachment.php?attachmentid=43146

next is the donor sd/ob just prepared as i would a clone
https://www.thctalk.com/cannabis-forum/attachment.php?attachmentid=43143https://www.thctalk.com/cannabis-forum/attachment.php?attachmentid=43151

the graft.
https://www.thctalk.com/cannabis-forum/attachment.php?attachmentid=43149https://www.thctalk.com/cannabis-forum/attachment.php?attachmentid=43152

wrapped it tight with twist tie
https://www.thctalk.com/cannabis-forum/attachment.php?attachmentid=43147

gave it a spray, covered plastic bag and taped for humidity
https://www.thctalk.com/cannabis-forum/attachment.php?attachmentid=43148

any tips would be great like should i take off plastic to spray daily or just leave it a few days
see how this turns out fingers crossed

I tried it last year but put a splint on it with a plaster wrapped round to hold it all together but when it took I pulled to hard when taking the plaster off and snapped it lol , I was gutted . Blueberry onto a superskunk and vice versa .

Good look mate I'm always up for a bit off experimenting (with plants obviously lol) hope it works .

top idea, could have an eight strain frankenstein plant, i may keep the fattass root stock and stems of my church scrog, and slap some clones on their, worth a go.
one question, as i understand it and i may well be wrong, doesnt the flowering get triggerd by hormones from the rootstock, overiding the genetics of the plant, i.e im my example making all the grafts church like, and not true to their original genitics, and yet again i could well be wrong

not sure diddymao, didnt think to much into it to be honest just wanted to try.i think the strains should hold their own flavours and that just getting fed from different roots.

cannaman a plaster is a good idea will try that another time

i use duck tape when a stem snaps, and just leave it on forever

Try putting some sphagnum moss (or the stuff they use to line hanging baskets) over the graft & then cover that with the plastic so you can keep the moisture in. Forgive me if that's what you've already done, your post sounded like it had pics but I cant see any. Try sealing with Clonex too, it hardens & really helps the whole process along. Your not using the clonex to encourage roots, so much as it's used just to seal the whole thing up.

Good luck mate

the post has pics from a private album does this make a difference?
thanks for the tips, only properly reading up about it now and will have a better attempt in the future.
took the bag off today to give a spray and leaves looked a little droopy but not to bad.

Nah, that's cool mate if you wanna keep it private.

Personally I think it's better when you graft two living plants together & then cut them once the graft has taken, but your way works too. It's not the easiest thing to get right even if you do everything perfectly, some strains graft easier than others.

I like the Multi strain on one plant Idea, I always have.

As I said best of luck :)

Am I right I thinking that grafting is a futile exercise, as the top half will not take any genes from the rooted half and vice versa.... Multiple straining on one plant i do not believe is possible (I may be wrong)

Not trying to piss on your parade, buy saw a similar thread a while back and the same answer was giving but in more detail... I think it was dekay?

Yeah fuck it why not dude! I cant see the pics so i cant tell what your doing but as i said you will not get the same bud from the root part of the plant, but wil indeed get some from the top part so i theory if you grafted multiple tops onto your bottom half then you should be able to have a mutistrain plant! :)

Theres a video of urban grower talking to a grower who sows his plant with lots of varietys on one root stock.
It's called How to graft cannabis plants - with Urban Grower
excellent idea if you want to keep certain strains.
good luck mate.

It is possible mate.

Kiwi Seeds had a plant at their place in Dam with multiple strains on one plant. I think it was Kiwi I've a difficult job remembering :)
