Hi people, Just wondering if I am doing the right thing. My White widow is approcing the end and has a max of three weeks left. Chek my sig. (http://http//www.thctalk.com/cannabis-forum/showthread.php?37197-Stealth-s-first-hydro-attempt!) I have started removing the fan leafs, shitty ones first. my scrog has gone about a foot above the screen in some places so I need to try get some light in IMO. Am I doing the right thing removing leafs at this time?

Naa dont remove too many. Removing a few so that lower buds get more light is "ok". but i took most off in my last grow, and i did get more bud site. but it went an extra 5 weeks and was still chopped a little too early. This time im not taking any off that arent dieing.

I'd say don't chop 'em in late flowering..... do your snipping while they're growing... unless they're blocking the buds. Makes sense to me...

dekay has 3 POTM medals & a plant of the year one too, I think he's saying it because he gets great results by not pruning!

It is a big debate that's been going on for ages. Personally I leave them on. Your buds do a lot of growing in their last couple of weeks & if you start cutting their solar panels off then you could stall the growing by shocking the plant. Tuck the leaves out of the way. If the plant is good enough the fans could have a decent coating of trichs by the end & then we're talking good oil & hash.

Yeah from what i have learnt you leave em on until they are falling off... the plant uses all the stored nutes in the leaves before dropping them and the plant will drop them, no need to pull anything off during flowering ><{{{*>

I would have no hesitation in trimming at this point but I never get any points in the potm comp so maybe thats part of my problem. In fact I find the leaves to be quite tasty at this point and often have them on my sandwhiches, dried they keep for ages in a jar. I realise this is quite a controvercial view so I sugest you just trim one section to see if it responds but dont trim too much at once.

They are the plants solar panels and should not be removed.

You can bend leaves out of the way if you want more light to penetrate the top canopy if it's particularly dense.
