Has anyone ever made their own scrog screen, or found something out there ideal for use as a scrog screen ?

I think string is strong and can also be readjusted during grows

best idea ive had for a scrog screen is get some lengths of wood and make a square shape glue or nail them together so its like a picture frame, then every 2 cm hammer a nail half in all the way around the frame then, just get string and well the rest is easy and if you need to dismantle quick just cut the string, also put sum legs on the frame and connect to plant pot then you have a plant pot scrog :D

surely the plants would push string out of the way too easily ? - i'm going for thicker wire in my next screen, as the plants are bending the ones i have now...

love the vertical screen idea ; i might consider that for my next 1 , as it greatly increases the screen area without increasing the floor space needed...

Search for PVC COATED CHAINLINK Garden fencing.

You know the stuff, its green usually lol, pricey but if you can get from a skip or old fence its great as a screen, cut to size

that would do the job...

Or you could go with chicken wire.

I used the self out of a plastic mini greenhouse which was perfect.

I made my own screens earlier today out of battening and garden wire, the wire was £3.50 for 50 meters, plenty enough length for the screens I had in mind which I made four of. I used a mitre saw to cut 45 degree angles, glued and stapled the corners and used small nails placed at around 2.5 inches apart all around the frames to run the wire round. I was quite chuffed with myself with the outcome and they should hopefully serve their purpose :) :joint:

I modular scrog, & have found that the shelves in those cheap pastic "greenhouses" are great for my needs, & they fit a 1 Mt sq tent very nicely indeed. There are some pics in my sig.

I use 2" weld-mesh from where I used to work, I'm doing my first scrog now but not going so good as I've used Jack Herer's from GHSC through thc's shop cos I had them, I should have bought some sativa's instead methink's:smokie:

Saw some wood in B&Q that's 1 centimetre by 2 metres, planed softwood, for less that a quid a stick.
Might try wood glueing up a sog screen from that for a couple of quid i think.

thats just normal cheap as ya like chicken fence with bits clipped outto make 2 squares - or you can do a wood frame - screws every 2" - coated garden wire - you know what im going to say right?
even string is useable for a screen as long as you pull it tight enough.

Just get the 2" x4" wire fencing and nail it to some kind of frame. Also the fencing wire that has larger squares that gradually become shorter rectangles is good in a circle around the plant with the smaller rectangles at the top. This also helps with the high winds in the fall.

From the picture you have, a wire shelf for closet organization is used. I plan on using one for my pc grow, and will hopefully have a pic up soon.

I stole mine from the council, it was put up over a rail fence for no apparent reason, so I took some of it. Its perfect 2 inch squares.

I've made my own scrog three times now, twice with chicken wire and once with a thicker plastic mesh from B&Q (like chicken wire but plastic).
I found that chicken wire cuts into the branches so I prefer the plastic one.
Heres me pics.

These corner pieces are from greens horticulture, their for grow tents and the wood is from B&Q (I had to file it down a bit)

Finally the legs went on as you can kind of see and the screen went into its home.

friday night i made myself a frame that in future i will put some mesh on for a scrog, but at the min its sole purpose if to give me something to tie some branches to, to get them some light, as the upper buds and leaves are shading them,

i used quick plumbing fittings, from wikes i bought 4 x elbows, 4 x T pieices and 6 meters of pipe,

my tent is 90cms x 90cms so cut 8 bits of pipe 40cms long, so thats elbow, bit of pipe, t piece, bit of pipe, elbow if that makes sence, that gives you 1 side of the frame, and the t piece is what i am using for the leg, which you can have as high as you need,

like i say i am planning to use it to aid some lst, but also i will cable tie some mesh to it for when i want to scrog

if anyone is interested i could try get some pictures, it definately wasnt the cheap option , but its something that will last forever and fully able to take it apart to store with very little fuss

These worked well for me, got the idea of The Fringe, I think he coined the phrase 'modular scrog'

https://www.thctalk.com/gallery/data/500/medium/060210_scrog.jpg

https://www.thctalk.com/gallery/data/500/medium/060210_scrog_a.jpg

The frame is attached directly to the pots by using 4 canes and a couple of bungees. It's quite handy because it means the plants can be removed from the growspace and they can be repotted with the screen still in place. You just unattach the screen from the canes, pot up, then re-attach the canes to the new pot. The mistake I made was the screens were too small, only about 1sq ft, in hindsight they should have been twice the size.
The two plants in the pic are mother plants I decided to flower, a Jilly Bean and a Black Domina.Because they were already short and bushy I thought the best way to flower them out was to keep them as level as possible, as I had other non-scrogged plants in the room at the time, this system worked really well.
