Homemade alarms

Obviously, having an electric burglar alarm wired in your house is not a good idea. The risk of attracting unwanted visitors in the event of a malfunction is too great.

Because I have an irritating neighbour, who has actually come through my back gate and onto my property to complain before, I've been thinking of ways to create a localised warning system to either alert myself or deter an intruder.

These panic alarms - or rape alarms - emitt an excruciating high pitched alarm when the pin is pulled. These things can be used liked grenades if you plug your ears first.

Another way to use them is to create a trip wire with fishing line or string and rig it in a way that rips out the pin when some nosey fucker literally crosses the line.

A "lite" version would be to do the same with party poppers.

I used to do the party poppers trip wire at people's houses on birthdays, christmas etc. I was about 7 and had clearly been watching Home Alone too much

That's a great Ideas specially the first one maybe connect to the door one you open it. But since there too loud wouldn't it be that Ur trying to hide some thing in there . I personally think something more discrete would be better .. But I guess it applies to different set up but good I dea

Even im debating that idea due to the rise in breakins around here lately. time to google potentual perosnal alarms me thinks.

I find a sign on our back gate "No trespassers" works a treat too, although not so well if your in one of those areas where the sign would go 'missing'

a big old kariokee set at ya door and a dog wil do the trick .....just think how loud that bark will be :) booked it paked it n fooked off xD

im thinking about knocking up some sort of trip system that will send a notification to my iphone or at the very least light up my alarm clock or something stealthy like that :D

There are wireless systems you can put on doors, windows etc and when the connection is broken(opened) it sends a text to your phone, there is a guy on here with a whole wireless grow room, fans, lights, locks, everything all to his phone and tablet, mike something, cant remember

I think the wireless system that having the GSM technology is the best way.Because it don't have a loud voice you get a the alert on your phone when some one enter in your property without your permission and also you can get the alert when you are out of your home.
