New veg room light?

hi all,i have built a new veg room which measures 3feet high 3feet long and 18inches wide see growroom section,i need a little advice as to a light its going to be cfl probably what i need to know is what size to light the room i want to veg a couple of mums and probably some cuttings and start seeds off too not all at the same time:).so any ideas will be welcome as i want this to be right.thanks weed heed

You want at least 1000 lumens per square foot for vegging. More is better. What kind of CFL's are you looking at using? If you're using the 26W CFL bulbs then plan on at least 6 of them. Eight would be better. It's a small space but keep in mind that fluorescents only penetrate 8-12" so you are going to probably want a few side lights as well if you want your mother's to veg well.

EDIT: When I say 1000 lumens per square foot that's the bare minimum. You really want 2000+ for decent growth.
