do you have to wait till the hairs are white before you drop light to 10/14 or 8/16.

or is it best to just stick to 12/12??

I've wondered this, and whether it's worth mimicking the changes in day length.

In northern-European lattitudes it's about 3 three minutes per day, or thereabouts, so 20-odd minutes per week. (About four hours change over a three month period.)

Just leave it at 12/12 until you have a few years experience ....

BTW pistils (the white bits) have nothing to do with the stage of ripeness, the calyxes swelling is starting sign that ripening has started

I always drop it a little bit at a time when they are nearly ready, it just gives them a signal that it's time to die and to finish up in a hurry
