How can I tell if my seedlings are male or female without flowering them?

You cant until they become sexually mature. If you veg for long enough they will show sex, usually around 5-6 weeks.

Hold them both up, very very close to your ear one at a time, if you hear a really really quiet "whining" noise, then its gonna be female.....

If they are wearing boots, its a bloke, stilletto's, its a girl from Essex. (No offence meant to the inhabitants/natives of essex)

Seriously, there is a way of covering up one low branch for 12 hours. It may show sex. I have never tried it but read about it.

My preferred method is to take some cuttings and flower one of them. They dont have to be rooted but it's best if they are. Saves revegging and lets your donor grow bigger.
