u can use any fan with the controller up to 4.5 amps if it the same as mine.. has it got thermostate probe thingy.. mine doesn´t seem to work no more tho.. doesn´t turn the fan speed down.. gonna have to take it back to the shop methinks

I don't see why not. But if you want to be completely sure, why not ask the manufacturer?

course it will work.. any fan will work with that control.. if it has a speed control on the fan already u just put on full and adjust with controller.. all it does is adjust the power sent to the fan....and can even adjust itself to too diff size fans.. to keep negative pressure

If you look on the link in my previous post you will see this link for the specs, on the bottom under accessories is a cheap looking RBE Single-phase electronic speed controller.

So, you have a Single-phase electronic speed controller and it should work

I remeber wen I was interested in purchasing a high powered ruck fan the details stated a fan controller couldnt be used so thought Id ask about the Soler & Palau. SHould be ok hopefully.

It does have a temperature probe attached. When I had a Prime Air controller connected to a RVK fan it would make noise when running at lower speeds very annoying when your cab is in your bedroom.

Approx £190, pricey but need it to be silent as possible.

Thanks for the link I completely forgot about that site.

Thanks for your efforts. I rang them & they said it will work with a controller.

Thanks Diddy, it would be a big plus if it had a controller built in, they should as its very expensive.

Its brilliant powerful & quite although Ive been using it with a speed step controller instead of a regular speed controller.
It is quite bigger than your normal RVK/ruck fans but noise is an issue then I recommend it.

How does this fan compare to a Airforce 2 fan regarding sound?

Hi WEEDBHOY
I decided not to go with the controller in the end because I found out that it does create the electric buzzing sound. I have a speed step controller which eliminates that noise but unfortunately doesnt decrease the speed when a desire temperature is met.

Greenshort are selling them by the way.

hello amero im going to be buying a td silent fan also the 8" 1100m3/h 21db, from justfans in the next month or 2 how is the fan is it as good and silent as they say? also for a controller have a look at my fan thermo con thread its got a great controller set up in it, a atc800+ with a airforce variac, but you need to no what your doing with wiring it up, my thread had diagrams on tho defo werth a look, a variac turns fan power down from 0-100% no huming and total silent, and the atc800+ turns tne fan on and off depending on the temp you set it at.

i read on the website there less than 10kg? mines going in my loft and theres no way i could get the standard box type acoustic fan in there thru my hatch plus they weigh sumit lyk 30-50kg lol

yeh on the web mies is suposed to be 21bd, my 5" ruck fan is 36bd so a massive drop in noice and a massive raise in power, great fans werth every penny imo, i want 4x600watts in my loft so will need 2 or the 1100m3/h in the end £500-600 but werth it for the air powerand the noise will only be about 24bd off 2200m/h because with 2 fans of the same db the noise increase will be +3db per extra fan.... so well werth it. do u no what amps they run off? ours wont be much less than mine will it

amero

Another thing we have in common... Ive also been using ruck fans they are brilliant & have never let me down but as you mentioned they're too loud.
You may have to unclip your TD fan if your hatch is too small, Id suggest you find out the exact dimensions & cross reference it with the opening of your loft just in case.
Im not sure of the amps ringing up the company would be your best bet.

ah my loft hatch is big i would guess 60-70cm2 it will fit no prob lol

I just found out today that the TD silent fans have a safety cut off feature when it detects air flow of approx 40C it automatically switches off. Are you planning to use it with air cooled lighting?

just had an email back from them my 1000/200 (1100m3/h) runs on 0.5 amp, yours must be 0.3 or something then, i seen on justfans they had there specs but i thoughi had read it wrong as i imagined it be alot higher than half an amp, but no there say it is correct :)
