no work for me now til the summer... :) so i was gonna ram my cuboard with as many little plants as i can(so i can get a bit of variety and seperate some males and females for seed production) for the sake of the rules i can fit 9x5 inch pots in my space, is this sufficient room for the plants to flower after say 2 week veg?? like i said im not working for the next few months so if they needed watering everyday towards the end that wouldnt be an issue is this possible? the pots are square btw muchos gracious for any advice

It's a very good approach.
What light are you using for flowering? How many plants?

I've used 12.7 cm (5") round pots successfully. Expect smaller plants due to the restricted root mass though.

fucking hell you guys are on it :) i blinked and there was the reply, its in a cuboard so cfls are what im using iv got good reflector for the 250watt light the walls are reflective and i have aload of home made cfl household bulb pendants i threw together, to use for the seedlings at first then to use additionally later or to keep the unknowing parents to be somewhere else in the house, well so long i as i can get away with five inch pots sweet thanks im not worried now.

Sounds like a decent plan no reason why that many plants shouldn't yield alright small but many nice:).....

change of plan gonna veg for 2 weeks switch lights determine sex kill all but one male seperate the lucky one with a lady then throw the rest back to 20/4 for a bit longer and repot, im looking at getting a hps will a 150 watt hps do a better job of flowering than my cfl?

first seedling northenlights no1 has popped its head :)

just realised this will now be in the wrong section :rolleye:

Almost certainly.

You'll get nearly 50% more light and use only 60% of the power.

for the sake of the rules im saying nine plants ;) but lets say 50% of those 9 are males il only end up with 4 fems and a tranny! so when iv done what is needed to do and its phototime there will hopefully be nine females :)

Depends on the CFL wattage!!
Found this info on another site while doing my usual research:

HPS wattage+lumens
70w(90Watts actual)- 6000Lumen 67Lumen/Watt
100w(124Watts actual)- 9500Lumen 76Lumen/Watt
150w(199Watts actual)- 15000Lumen 76Lumen/Watt
250w(300Watts actual)- 29000Lumen 97Lumen/Watt
400w(468Watts actual)- 50000Lumen 107Lumen/Watt
600w(660Watts actual)- 90000Lumen 136Lumen/Watt
1000w(1140Watts actual)- 140000Lumen 140Lumen/Watt

And CFL wattage+lumens
26W- 1700Lumen 65Lumen/Watt
42W- 2600Lumen 62Lumen/Watt
65W- 3400Lumen 52Lumen/Watt
85W- 4200Lumen 49Lumen/Watt
105W- 6900Lumen 66Lumen/Watt
150W- 8200Lumen 55Lumen/Watt
200W- 10000Lumen 50Lumen/Watt

Notice the smaller CFL's are more efficient than the larger CFL's!
Something worth a little more research perhaps?
