blackout curtains is what you need mate by the sounds of it, i use them in my bedroom there great, shut them and no one will see any light even in the dead of night from the outside, and as far as light interuptions to your plants, the less the better really or you risk hermies, i never go in my room when lights are off, in my eyes its a standard rule, unless of course you have a green light suitable to use for lights off.

Help a mate do this few years ago

    Build closed box around window

    Do you have net curtains.

    And close curtains.

    Works a treat.
    This will block light.

this is what i am going to do for my room conversion i think, build a box around the widow and paint the inside with matt black paint, put a blind or nets in between the secondary glazing and leave the curtains in place, imo no one will see any light... might even leave the window open a crack and put a ducting spigot on the back of the box to draw fresh air from... then cover the whole box with kingspan or cellotex for sound proofing..... but for a room with a tent? i would not go to that extreme.. have it in a room at the back of the house and have the opening facing away from the window... just use some black out sheeting or turn the light off before opening the tent, just common sense really.

    peace...IJ

I don't think this is a huge issue. It certainly doesn't need you to build anything.

If you're super paranoid then get some black out curtains as someone already suggested or just turn the grow light off before you go in there.

I was at a friends the other day and from across the street I saw a Burst of orange light threw his neighbours window as if somebody opened a door to a groom lol .
I knew what it was so yes it's a major issue imo
It's a good job the plough isn't a thief or grass but in time the wrong person will see that :-/
