    This thread is now obsolete....Wattbits and Maplin have folded so the the components are no longer available in the Uk as far as I can see...

    Thanks for the write up Bud. Great work.

    Wondering whether anyone sees any problem with adapting the inkbird temp controller (I cant post links yet, but if you google inkbird IT-308) to replace the ATC controller? I was thinking of either pulling apart the socket labelled 'heating' and 'cooling' and rewiring the heating into the relay (or maybe running a lead to preserve the device)

    Asking cause the ATC controller seems a little hard to get in my country, but probably could get it shipped or find something similar if you or anyone else can see why the inkbird wouldnt work.

    Lastly, just to verify would the variacs work with the can-fan RS150 (again have to google can-fan RS150, sorry cant link)

    One last question, are these obsolete for the price now? The price to make one of these moves into the SMSCOM Twin Controller Pro territory... I do love myself a DIY though.

    hi guys i SEE buzz said that this post is obsolete now as variacs are rare hes not wrong. but this i such a good controller to have thanks to buzz. i can still get hold of brand new 2amp variac if people need them pm. price is 90£ each thks i know they are getting harder to source. uk delivery only
