Am I ready for a mentor?
Id like to request a mentor plz.
I have had no experience of growing but allways wanted to try. I have been doing a bit of research on it and a friend directed me here for advice so here I am.
Im setting up a small 22 inch deep by 20 inch wide, 32 inch high growing area in a cupboard and im doing it on a zero budget.
I know this is going to be hard but im hoping to get what i need for free.
Here is what i have so far:
A small collection of random seeds I have collected that look ok.
Small fan
Thermometer
2 timers
Extention cord
Tumble dryer vent hose
Air in, PC fan. Air out, planning to connect it to the one in the wall or use a fan and make a charcoal filter myself as iv seen the price!
250w metal halide, (21750 lumens i think) no holder yet.
compost
Im planning on growing in compost and not using any nutes, is this ok? Im of the thinking that compost will have its own nutes and will look after the PH on its own as its active soil.
I still have to make the cupboard white or reflective so have to figure that out and Im trying to get 1 large pot to fit, drainage in mind.
Planning to veg for around 4-5 weeks and flower for 4-5 weeks on the same bulb but can add small 20w (1200 lumen) CFLs if needed, still checking the maths on that one.
I hope this gives a good idea of my set-up, its all I can think of just now!
