    He even accused me of being too posh for vinegar on sausages.

    Whilst this is clearly true, I'm not entirely immune to what others may eat. However, vinegar is a preservative that we only use on cheap fish to mask the taste of rotting fish.

    And on onions and beetroot.

    To put vinegar on sausages in some ways suggests that the meat is less than fresh.

    I couldn't eat that combination based purely on the implication.
