In the future I am looking at modding my Wilma for RDWC, and I would like to use air pots, I have the 50 litre res Wilma, and want to look at growing two plants. I was going to do similar to you but rather than mod the Wilma top, I was going to get a Garland tray to fit over the top, what size airpots would you recommend Jesse?
I used 4 10L airpots on my wilma before and they went well, wouldnt sit in the tray though without butchering some of the plastic away first. Yeah bud done summat similar with the garland trays over his big wilma 9 res mate. Youd need to support the trays with some battons or shit to handle the weight.

If ur sticking to coco and want decent size plants 10l will do but for phat old girls u want 15L minimum realy mate and if ur trying to encourage the roots to come out the base of airpots to go in the main res id fuck the airpots off all together and just use netpots with clay pebbles. The roots will be in res in less than a week and then theres no faster growth than that unless you go down lpa or hpa route

The same amount of noise as when uve got proper pots on top of the tray mate

Just with dwc it is alot more important to have a decent volume of DO. I used my V-60 to power my stones with pots on top and as a DWC system aswel. Its more than enough for my res but something the size of urs id be running two of em.

They do make noise but can be dampend by playing ur res on somthing so it doesnt vibrate through the floor

It's so awesome the wilmas are still going strong! I've been away from the forum but still was using two 4pot systems in a 2.4 x 1.2m tent under three 600w sods yielding around 1.5kg+ dry between them each grow, until someone tried to rob me for it last summer nearly getting me busted in the process again with the tears..
Anyway time to set a system back up, it's still nocking out some tasty looking weed by you guy. like the 5" holes, Not sure why I didn't do the in the first place.
