Quite the line up, can't really see them clearly with that dark room, film processing safe light lol, but no doubt they're coming along nicely.

I remember years back those Darkowl/Night owl seeds were like £50-60 for 3-5 seeds..they gone up now?

I thought I was getting 5 seeds for £50-£58 a pack, nope there was 3 in there (& I heard him say on a podcast his 3 packs were 5 packs, the same as Mephisto (& he was "@Daz.Mephisto"). Nope

Day 61:

Retarded Gorilla Zkittlez, the classic "Wheat Plant" pheno, where they're all stretchy & stringy & just yield a ton of larf (remember the Barneys Farm Sour Diesel from Blunt 13)...?




She's also doing the retarded 3 blade leaf thing, which I am linking to a recessive link trait. That trait is shit plants that don't want to yield or finish (this was apparent in my Ripley's OG from last round that also had 3 blade leaves & were shit)





I have a suspicion now after growing these Night Owl seeds that are smaller plants, that when you try to grow big Auto's they tend to bloat out & not want to finish & contain other traits like excessive stretch & shit resin production. My Mango Smiles were similar, pretty sure 8 plants yielded 32 zips, however there was a small 2 foot plant (the rest were 3-4') which was the only one that really looked properly done & the smoke was next level.

I think the focus for (Mephisto) Auto's will be ones that lean to the smaller side, to see if I get better consistency (although double grape is a smaller one & out of my 5 pack, 4 were duds & the only one that sprouted was a retard)


This grow I also discovered "wetting agents". I bought it for foliar to make the foliar wetter, tried it in the feeds & the pots took so much volume without run off I thought I was going crazy. Then I figured the feed was probably channeling in the coco & leaving dry spots, but the wetting agent made those bitches wetter than a slip n' slide. Love it, & have added it to the line up (of Athena Pro-Line, Power Si, Hygrozyme, Rhizotonic & Hydrogen Peroxide (H202).

Very stingy indeed..and like you I would expect 5 seeds from 'Daz' too, for the same reasons.


Cheers for sharing the pics, B1unt, and yeahh..I see what you mean about the structure your seeing with a few of them. I remember some like that with my Blackberry grows from Fastbuds...I grew a total of 8 of that one strain, and decided to never go back.

Aside from the purple colouring, I wasn't impressed at all with the structure and resulting buds.

I think you're growing a lot more than me though so it would make sense they would pop up more often in your grows...max I grow at one time is 4 plants.


I purchased some wetting agent powder years ago, I found it does a great job of soaking the medium easier, especially with the wet/dry cycles I'd put them through.

Daz had been talking about raising prices on his seeds. Lot of breeders are struggling. No way in hell am i paying $50-$60 for 3 seeds lol, his plants are great but not that great. Nobodies are. When you break it down per seed he’s selling $200 packs. No thanks. Ive done that before and have never seen anything outside of S1’s produce anything that justifies that price, given the average prices across the market. Theyre terpy and frosty for sure. But for that price i want consistency. Terps, structure, vigor….. Everything. No thank you. I’ll buy $35-$70 packs, run the whole thing and find 2 special plants. There’s just too many good breeders out there to justify that coin. $200 is clone territory. Guaranteed profiles that you can build an entire line around. Just my opinion though. Not going to knock Daz for his pricing. He can charge what he wants. The market determines value. But there are drawbacks to that, especially in a market where several breeders are going belly up. Well known and highly regarded breeders. Archive doesnt even update their own site anymore.


Anyways. Heres whats going on in my 4x4. Stretchy ones are ECSD, shorter one Golden Goat. $35 packs that ive been more than happy with.

Must just be a recessive trait, but I’ve seen it in all 3 of my grows this year; Banrey’s farm Sour Diesel, 6 out of my 7 Ripley’s OG’s & now this Gorilla Zkittlez. Which I expect from Fast Buds to a degree, not so much from Mephisto.

For a laugh with my current run I joked about running a whole bunch of strains not being any different to an auto monocrop as the plants ate all over the place anyway. Surprisingly current grow is chugging along smoothly, but I put a lot of effort into raising the smaller plants to keep the canopy some what level & adjusted it until they stopped stretching.

I’d actually be curious to run a monocrop of Daz’s gear to see all the expressions (they need to be 5 packs though ). I suspect they’d be much tighter & more consistent than what seen from Mephisto recently & I doubt there would be any see any retards. I may well be convinced if all the plants yield fire flower & I don’t end up with 3-6 plants of boof at the end of a run

Matt Riot (love him or hate him) is getting ready to open up A UK based operation sometime in the near future. Im really looking forward to seeing you grow out alot of the genetics that are right now very difficult for people in Europe to source
