LOL - I've been waiting for some one to ask EC/PPM
The detail here is all in the particle size of the silver, not the amount of silver in suspension...
Both EC & PPM are ineffective measurements (I've put a lot of research into this) - they will tell you, by percentage, the amount of silver in the water but not the size of the silver particle! if the particles are too large then we have wasted our time as to be absorbed by the plant they must be below a certain size...
What we need is to pass a low voltage through the electrodes, if the voltage gets too high, the particle size increases... 9v, whilst not perfect, will get you the result... 6-7.5V would be better (but that's complicating things as batteries don't come in those sizes...)
There are a few other considerations but they don't really matter as long as you don't treat it as food grade!
